Gus makes more than Dabo now.

Dabo is in the Playoffs for the 3rd straight year and won a Natty.

It defies logic.

I'm convinced you don't actually know anything about football rb. I feel like you just kinda like auburn and like to see them do okay and you don't want to risk losing the consistently decent teams gus brings. That's cool but don't blame us who want to see more. Isn't it sad that I wasn't excited about playing today bc I just knew gus wouldn't have the team ready? And that's not me being negative. He has consistently been a terrible bowl coach and continued the trend. We have a 50 million dollar coach. A 50 million dollar coach should never get embarrassed like that. He lost to a team that did not have a talent advantage in one aspect whatsoever

Try me.

I'm currently enrolled at Auburn and have been a fan since I was in diapers. There were no available options better than Gus this year and that's just a fact. I've explained in detail, on several occasions, why I think securing Gus is a good idea. I stand behind it.

I want to see more, too. I'm just easily annoyed by the melty bunch of posters we have on this board that say the same inane shite over and over again.

I'm just as sad as you are. I was furious for the entire game. I'm just objective enough to not put it all on Gus.

That's nonsense.

Firing Gus != Not signing the shite contract he puts on our desk because Arkansas looks at him.

Lots of coaches will go 8-5 most years with an occasional good run at Auburn

As matter a fact, every coach since inception of the SECCG has taken us there.

He has done nothing special.

We should have countered with 6m/5 years and let him walk if he wanted more.

Well that's a nice translation you're doing for them, but that's a different discussion. Because...

Is something I definitely agree with, but care less about than you do. I don't care what the boosters decide to pay him. I think job security is a good thing for Gus and I think, given his recruiting which has been special, he'll be able to put a good product on the field.

I think the majority of people who are angry hold my position. Only a select few retards think we should have fired him after finishing the season the way we did.

Even if we wanted to, we couldn't. It wasn't an option. No coach would come here after getting fired for beating #1 back to back.

Those are not the people I'm arguing with. If the issue is that we didn't have the best contract negotiations (which is something I don't think anyone actually knows the details of), fine.

I don't think we need to know the details to judge the final result on the context of paying too much.

It's not like it's a give and take relationship- ie. Gus gives each booster a bj in exchange for an extra year on the contract.

That's fine. I don't really care to argue about the contract because I don't care how much the Auburn boosters are willing to shell out.

Just curious why you think that's nonsense. He's 1-4 in bowls with the 1 win being against Memphis. We've come out flat as frick the past two bowls

My bad, I read that part of your post wrong. I agree, his bowl performances have been underwhelming. We had no business being in the Sugar Bowl, but that’s an outlier.
