Their defense was playing to stop the pass too. That's why Hugh staying with the RPO game tonight was important. The read almost every time was to run it. Last year he got greedy a lot and wanted to hit the home run. Tonight he didn't, so credit to Freeze for that.

Nice win. Our DBs need some serious work in group defense. They were decent in 1v1 on the outside. But combo coverages they were atrocious. The OL and DL won the trenches. Linebackers and safeties have got to tackle better in space.

I think Baylor has a decent offense and to give up as many plays on 4th down and to only give up 24 is a win in my opinion.

WRs will open up as season goes on, but had to make teams respect our O-line and run game first. We did that tonight.

Correct - we took what they gave us and abused it. Take it every time

Yeah I was pleased with the way the corners played. Spav did a great job of realizing they had a huge mismatch inside in the passing game and attacked it all night.

I was pleasantly surprised with the Alston/Cobb combo. Both had 16 carries for 84 and 74 respectively and a TD a piece. Pretty damn efficient and the way we leaned on Baylor's defense with the run ended up winning the game.

The last drive bled off nearly 7:30 of game clock because they were gassed. Ended up putting an insurance TD on the board and Baylor got the ball back with like 4-4:30 left to try and score twice.

Best of all...NO TURNOVERS! JA made the right reads at the right times and kept the ball out of the other team's hands. 14pt road win over a P4 team to open the season. Its been a great night. WDE, boys

Im just happy we finally have a qb who can read a defense. Its the only way RPO works and why we have failed past few years.

They were solid but my concern is if they are going to be able to still produce when teams focus on the run like Hunter could. Not that I expect them to be Hunter, but at some point we are going to need a RB that can make stuff happen.

Easily correctable. They were playing with absolute terrible leverage in coverage. Probably way to much 1 on 1 drills.

Tackling in the open field has to get better immediately or better put someone else in especially at safety.

Linebackers were poor in pass coverage as well but they stayed in making sure they couldn't run so a give and take a little.

Amen. Still worried about him actually reading coverages post snap, but he understands the RPO game well and only had a couple misreads I can remember.

vaguely reminiscent of the 2013 opener vs Wazzou

ran the ball a ton, threw only sparingly, but rolled up some yards and points and won fairly handily

Some of that was on Thorne last year (not making this a shite on Thorne post). Just the truth. He took a lot of rpo’s and tried to force them instead of taking the run and numbers.

It’s not bad. Misreads and miscommunication that can be fixed in a week.

Lbs in the pass g game were awful. In the run game they were hero’s.

2TD win. Just work on getting better.

Jackson is a warrior - surprised he’s not being praised more.

After tonight, I think the Oklahoma line just swung 6 pts in our favor. They will have no idea what our offense will do. We will sling it soon enough

Them getting beat inside every time was insane. Let them break outside. Never give up the inside route. That is far more dangerous for a TE.
