Fair made a nice run after the catch, but on the replay it appears that Hunter was wide open.

I assume the first read was to Fair?

Didnt notice it Saturday night in full time.

To be honest, I dont think I can go back and watch that game again.

Sometimes, one night stands should remain, one night stands. You just get up, wipe yourself off and go home

Yes he did come out of the backfield uncovered. He helped seal the edge when Fair ran to the end zone.

I knew beforehand I had zero shot at staying up for the whole game but the game itself really cemented my fate

Agree then a few years later you might see them and think back that it wasn't that bad...memories fade...

He was. Thorne likely missed him but I'm not too upset about it. It worked out and I don't always trust RBs to catch the ball downfield.

+ Fair is really good at his job, easily one of the most athletic players on this team

Yes, wide open. PT’s having trouble with pre snap reads and seeing the field right now…hopefully it gets worked out.

Hard for PT to get into a rhythm when he is getting yanked every other drive / play

To hell with the 2 Qb system. It will ruin this team if Freeze keeps insisting that Robbie is VITAL for our success.

Before the game AU-5 or -6 line

1. Longest travel ever by Auburn football
2. Latest start ever for Auburn football
3. Auburn never won a game in California.
4. No SEC team had won a game against PAC-12 at their home stadium since Tennessee in 1997 (didnt we play Wazzu?)
5. The Auburn team is recovering from two seasons of Byron Haskins coaching and negligence

I would evaluate it like this:
Auburn won the game
Auburn cranked up the offense when needed.
Auburns defense played a stellar game, maybe? Asante AND KAUFMAN brought it. Marcus Harris also.

With the built in adversity I would call the performance serviceable. Dont forget Cal is better than several of the weak sisters that beat and pressed Power 5's this season so far. The season will show us more about Cal..

..and Auburn

not sure.

I did rewatch the game last night. I always see things the second time around........Thorne doesn't see the field. There were many plays where we had receivers open and he was locked into a guy covered. It is like he predetermins where he is going with the ball before the snap.

Watching the replay, Fair was wide open as well. Seems like he had a couple of good options and the one he decided on ended in a touchdown. Looks like a good read to me.

I fell asleep before the half.

Reading these comments, I think I saw enough.
