So did I hear correctly that all tickets are now digital? How do you guys foresee this impacting the scalping market? I hate it personally because I like collecting ticket stubs but it also makes it a lot harder to get tickets outside of the stadium for, say, a family of 5. What's the work around here?

Watch ticketmaster and stubhub. People will likely drop the price close to the start time.

you can transfer tickets digitally to another person, but can only do so one time per ticket

Yes. I hear they are digital. Yes, one time transfer per ticket. Means the sidewalk scalper duos will be out of a side job.

They tried eTickets out last year and had no problems from what I gather. Transfers were not a problem, albeit with limited phone-tower traffic. Now we will see how good it is on game day when there are 3 to 4 times the number from 2020.

I can see Grandpa and his grandkid walking up to a guy holding his phone high, agrees to a price and then has to exchange email addresses, remember their ticket account info, and hope like crazy the 80,000+ phones in the area are not transmitting.

Besides, there will be no memorabilia from a game... an end of a wonderful fan experience.

Transfers are a problem that will hopefully be fixed by next year (Until then there is a work around that should work).

Put the tickets in your wallet, screen shot them and then text to the other person. They will tell you it will not work (Some legal reasons), but a QR code is a QR code. We plan to try it the first game and then if it does not work use my wallet.

Is a ticket the only form of memorabilia you can have in life? Maybe I’m just not sentimental at all, but I’ve never kept a ticket. It never bothered me as a student that I wasn’t getting a physical ticket.

Did not know that. That's kind of dumb.

So, not actually tied to scalping (well, maybe it is) but is there any way to see the face value of a ticket? Say I can't use tickets for a certain game. Someone I know wants them, and wants to pay me for them. How do I know what face value is to ask them?

It doesn't show on the ticket in the Google Wallet that I can see. I guess I could go look at single game tickets, but what if it's a game that AU isn't selling as a single game?

Try the Gametime app. It’s had the lowest prices I’ve seen in my area closer to kickoff/tip-off/etc

That is an excellent point, it is not in the email we received either. Checked the Website, nope... $475 for the season is all I can find.

Which brings up the problem of buying from scalpers this year.

Don’t know if they’ve already done that and someone has already used that QR code

Yep, I wouldn’t buy from an in person scalper with things being digital. Never liked doing it with physical tickets anyway.

I don’t think that is accurate. I transferred 4 to the opening game today. You just have to “select all” before you email the transfer

I think you might be misreading. you cant transfer tickets more than once. So whomever you transferred to, wouldnt be able to transfer again.

Which sucks for some people because they buy through other people to get their season tickets

Yep, first scan wins. I had a buddy lose his arse on tickets like this.

You sure? That doesn’t make sense at all to me. I’ve been gifted Falcons, Braves, et.al tickets from clients and friends and I’ve transferred them on with no problem.

In fairness, I haven’t tried that with the digital Auburn tickets, so you may be right, but that doesn’t make any sense to me. Why would they do that?
