So, it’s official. Hugh has zero faith in any of the other QBs on his roster.

Does he actually took that a win against ULM will help his situation?

I’d rather give him a pass letting the young guys get some reps than winning a meaningless game.

I wonder how many of our QBs will hit the portal?

I think it is more he doesn’t trust them for the games after ULM. If you are t planning on starting them against A&M or Bama, you don’t start them here if Thorne can go.

I'm mad that without practicing for much of two weeks due to injury and after a nearly full two seasons of extremely mediocre performances, we do not have another QB on the roster we feel comfortable going with in a game.

That’s not it.

That’s not it at all.

Brother Hugh is at the point in his disastrous failure that he’d rather LOSE with Thorne than risk switching QBs and take a risky shot at winning.

Because, you see, if it came to pass that a QB switch succeeded then it would make him look EVEN WORSE.

In other words he would rather LOSE with Thorne rather than roll the dice with someone else.

That’s who the current Auburn head coach IS.

Remember him telling us “Thorne is starting because he’s better in practice!” And yet he’s practiced VERY VERY LITTLE in the last two weeks and is still starting.

He’s telling lie after lie about his QB issues and is ending up swallowing his own tail.

Hell, as other people have noted, Heisman Hank may be just as bad as Thorne. But we’ve had close to TWO YEARS of proven Thorne awfulness and Hank only gets less than two games?

Utter and total BS and CYA by Preacher and Savior of Souls (whose snake-oil might give him a living after he’s rightly booted from Auburn University) Hugh Freeze.

The same guy who preached his quality at QB coaching in his first speech after getting the Auburn job.

The same guy who told the press in that same speech that he was the guy who could turn programs around quickly.

The same guy who said in that said since the advent of NLI and immediate transfers that “Year Two” would see positive results.

The same guy who now blames everyone but himself (coaches and players alike) and simps for “more time” to build a “culture”… what Preacher Hugh? A culture of losing? A culture of destroying what Pat Dye built?

Hugh Freeze is a damn fraud. And tragically Auburn Football has made so many bad decisions over the last 11 years that we have to keep him for at least one more year.

But the rest of the SEC has Brother Hugh’s number. He may or may not improve in Year Three but, if he does, it won’t be by much. He’s just setting us farther and farther behind the pack. And the people I feel most bad for are the current students and students of the near and probably far term students in the future. Unless AU makes a miracle hire after Freeze it’s gonna be one helluva hole to dig out of.

Hopefully, Walker White will see the field tomorrow. Apparently, a condition of him signing with Auburn was that his parents wanted a guarantee of a red shirt. He can play the next three games and still keep his RS.

I had high hopes for Brown and Greiner, but after seeing them in action, I see why Freeze keeps trotting Thorne out there.

Accurate

At this point I'm convinced that Thorne has an NIL contract about playtime

Apparently the highly venerated #71 ranked HS QB in the 2023 class might actually just suck more than the "guy who got benched at MSU" (citation not found) .

meta, I’m usually 100% on board with your rational reactions.

The problem in this case is you are trying to be rational in response to an emotional coach who has been coaching and making personnel decidions IRRATIONALY.

In other words, you are trying to *rationally* support a coach who is performing and saying “1 + 1 = 3” when you KNOW the answer is “2”.

Maybe your logic and rationallity are leading you to rationale that “all these angry people must be wrong!” and so you defend this horrible QB and this HC’s utterly horrible coaching decisions.

In this case, my friend, please do some further reflection, Cuz you are WRONG.

I’m all for them getting playing time in this game. I honestly thought Hank was going to start. If they aren’t going to start the final two though, they don’t need to start this one. Just sends a bad message to the team. Hopefully we get up quick and they get a lot of play time.

Hugh had no problem benching Thorne earlier , that’s my only point. He is doing what he thinks will be the best opportunity for us to win the final 3. I also won’t criticize anyone that disagrees with that opinion, but Hugh is doing the right thing if he doesn’t think any of the backups are ready to start against A&M or Bama.

No one is getting any significant playing time except Thorne.

100-0 or 0-100.

It is Thorne.
