I hope so but doubt it.

I don't expect to see Hank come out and be a star at all but hard to see him not giving us a better chance to win. PT just hasn't executed even the little things well in the passing game. Gotta make the easy plays to give ourselves a chance.

Agree. I honestly dont have confidence that he is going to be great. But a change had to be made and if its not the right thing, then we make more adjustments

You cant keep doing the same thing

Now is the time to do it if you are going to. He can't wait and throw HB in there against SEC level competition.

Honestly, what is the downside to giving Hank the start this week? Bad opponent...Thorne coming off a terrible game...Let Hank get out there and get some game reps. If he starts making the same mistakes Thorne was, then sit him back down.

I really don't see how any other way makes sense. People jumped all over Saban for benching Milroe for the USF game last year. He did anyway and their offense struggled mightily in bad weather. They still won and he got to show that there wasn't much behind Milroe and it lit a fire under Milroe to step his game up the rest of the year. It was a win/win and hopefully something similar happens for Auburn with this. It either lights a fire under Thorne for the remainder of the season...or Hank balls out and we have the QB for the re.ainder of the season and further possibly. Another win/win.

He’s got some weird argument about recruiting that makes no sense.

If anything, it helps recruiting. Because these top players don’t want to come somewhere that the HC has senioritis, and refuses to bench a terrible upperclassman in front of them.

Part of me thinks, "it can't get any worse."

We scored 7 points, at home, against a west coast team that barely funds its athletic program and certainly doesn't care about football. We had almost as many turnovers as points. It may not get better, but it doesn't get worse.

What has happened to you people? Why stick with a QB that is 15 games in and clearly sucks.

Agree completely. Furthermore, it is not like playing in this game does anything for Thorne.

And if we needed PT to win this game we are boned anyway.

So far I’ve seen one person in this thread with that opinion.

I hope it works but this could go sideways bad a few games down the road. I hope old Hugh knows what he is doing.

I was asking that question for the entire off season.
