I had season tickets and also went to the Vandy game away. Never forget my friend Johnny how looked identical to Reid McMillian say just prior to the opening game against Ole Miss. Thick clouds hung low in the southern sunset he said these exact words " those clouds look bad but not as bad as we are gonna beat the shite out of everyone we play this year"

Seems like yesterday. Can not believe it has been 30 years.

It was a great time to be in the student section. Didn't have to worry about listening on the radio!

Bam wins the Championship the year before and Auburn being the banned black sheep puts on a bigger villain outfit. That is the
biggest alpha thing Auburn has ever done.

I remember buying a tshirt from the parking lot at Samford Stadium during the UGA game that said "No Bowl, No TV, No Problem" and the other side said "We ought to go on probation more often". Thought it was pretty funny.

By the way, those storm trooper outfits are so clean with Bowden wearing white as well.

I remember being in the student section in the rain vs UF and it seemed like we were about to get run out of,the stadium until Calvin Jackson’s interception. I still don’t know how James Bostic broke that tackle on 4th down toss sweep for a TD. 1993 nd 94 UF games are the best games I ever attended as a student.

"At a remote outpost in frozen South Korea, an Army sergeant tunes his radio to the Armed Forces Network to listen as he pulls guard duty along the DMZ. A Selma native living in Fairbanks, Alaska, is hosting a listening party today with his friends, who’ll hear the game via telephone, all decked out in orange-and-blue.”

The Vandy game was insanity. Had to have 4 stops at the goal line to win it.
Although Willis left us to go coach for the tide he made 2 incredible plays on the goal line

I had to buy a coat the morning of the Arkansas game, we drove from Auburn all day Friday. Thought we were donna die on the old,hwy between LR and Fayetteville. We did so much stupid shite it’s a miracle we are alive today.

Damn it...... I miss Jim Fyfe.

The late longtime Auburn play-by-play broadcaster Jim Fyffe opens the call for the landmark season’s Iron Bowl matchup with archrival Alabama brilliantly:

Greatest ?
'Sonny and Wimp' was the most consistently entertaining radio I've ever heard.

I used to call my parents and listen to radio over the phone for the 1993 games.
It seems stupid now, but I did not have the internet then.

I still contend that 93 UF was the loudest game I've ever been to in JHS and I've been to all the big ones.

I was 12. I remember listening to every game on the boom box while I jumped on the trampoline pretending I was playing lol. Good times

Being in the stadium I agree. May have not been the loudest moment but for the entirety of the game I don’t think a game comes close except maybe ‘89 bama.
It was absolutely insanely loud every time the gators broke the huddle and not just on 3rd down every play the entire game.
The Jordan-hare voodoo atmosphere definitely grew out of the 80’s and 90’s fans. We were sick and tired of losing to Bama and dominated the conference in the 80’s. The addition of Pat Dye and crazy enough Jim Fyffe on the radio brought a crazy amount of excitement to the Auburn family. Because in the 80’s you might get to play on TV 2-3 times a year so you listened on radio and for AU Fyffe will always be the standard bearer.

My Granddad joined me for breakfast one morning. "Who do you think we should hire?" I replied "I know you recruited Vince. But if a coach can win at East Carolina and Wyoming ....that guy can win anywhere." His reply ...."Contracts are not signed yet, be quiet."
