Auburn adds Arizona RHP Corey Kling per BMatt.
He was 2-1 with a 4.28 ERA in 20 appearances out of the bullpen last season. He had 43 strikeouts and just nine walks in 40.0 innings pitched. He didn’t allow a run in 12 of his 20 appearances.
Was previously at USF where he was 1-2 with a 4.66 ERA in 21 career appearances. He has one year of eligibility remaining.

Sounds like he was pretty boom or bust then? When his stuff is on, not touching him. When he is off, got torched?

That OU club never quits. They played us similarly. No matter what the other team does they just keep grinding and play terrible D.

-Two more veterans in Cade Belyeu and Griffin Graves are also returning.-
-No final decisions but we expect Rembert, Guevara, Ryan Hetzler, and Petrovic to sign with an MLB team. Same for top signee Coleman Borthwick.
My words if we could keep one of Hetzler or Petrovic one more year we would be in hog heaven.

In case anyone is wondering, our 2027 class is currently freaking loaded. Lots of talent on multiple teams in the WWBA from Alex Wise ((94 mph), hurt jr (stud on the #1 tm), Brennan Neal (2-way star that can hit 94)….

No but I did some news in a detailed mock draft. If this is all we lost it would be a win I guess. Would love to keep McCraine but can’t keep everyone. Surely I missed some but it was my quick review
Edit: Coleman was 2nd rd 2 mill over slot
- Rembert and Guevara going to Red Sox in 3rd and 5th.
- Jace going to braves in 2nd way above slot so he’s gone.
- BMcCraine going above slot to Dodgers in 8th ( 500k) hopefully he stays.

I would assume anyone not drafted in the top 3 rounds we could match the money for 1 year if the money men want to keep them.
High school kids are getting smarter about the minor leagues as well. Many are choosing to go the college route because prior to NIL anyone drafted in the top 10 rounds basically would go pro. Now if it’s not first or second round many go to college to develop. Might be better coaching in the SEC than rookie league or single A ball.

AUBURN — Maybe Butch Thompson's general perspective regarding the MLB Draft was more of a foreshadow for what's to come.
"You think you have a feel how things can go," the Auburn baseball coach said July 1, "but it never goes the way you expect."
That could be for better or for worse, but a day before this year's draft, which starts Saturday, July 11 (Noon CT, NBC), there's reason to believe the Tigers could have a considerable surprise in their midst.
ESPN's Kiley McDaniel released his final two-round mock draft for 2026 on Friday, and it didn't include any of Auburn's most-touted high-schoolers in the projections, most notably Coleman Borthwick, who he rated as the 31st-best player in the class.
McDaniel wrote that of the top-ranked players who weren't projected, it was "almost entirely high school prospects with tough sign-ability that could push them to college." The first in a nine-name list was Borthwick, and McDaniel went on to write that fellow Auburn commit Jace Mataczynski, a top-100 player, was a "toss-up" in terms of going pro if drafted.
Auburn has as many as 14 players, either current or future, viewed as draft-able. However, many of the projections from major outlets don't include the best of those in their selections. Here's a look at the latest mock drafts and big boards ahead's of the draft's start.
