Gabe Gross flat out sucks as a hitting coach, that’s what all those numbers tell me. Bubb has been there two years and still can’t hit a curveball. Butch is also not a baseball genius. having Belyu try to bunt with a man on third and 2 outs, Not to mention the strike out/ throw out trying to steal in the first inning. Also did Bristol Carter frick Butch’s wife? Cause he hit the ball hard Friday, had a base hit and stole a base but we used Belza at DH, who didn’t do jack shite, and put Belyu in CF. Also didn’t do shite at the plate,

Gabe sets the lineup. Gabe calls the O.

I have been saying for a few seasons we should move on from Gabe. That isn't going to happen.

I think we are trying to get as many quality arms as possible. Things will fall where they fall.

There is the lead off base stealer I was mentioning needing.

Now a basher at DH. Probably need 3-4 arms. And a replacement for any transfer.

Might need a utility guy that play multiple position and hits for average at a small school. Might never see the field but can give you quality innings if needed

Need 2 mashers. He fills out the CF pos too as I done expect Bristol back.

Curious if we let Ethin and McCraine throw this yr.

Good luck to him.

His hitting needs work. He shines as a base runner and that doesn't work if you cant hit or bunt.

Expected. I’d be surprised if Cade B doesn’t follow him. Hope not as he is good back-up, but we need more consistency out of this position.

I saw some growth in Cade. His best is in front of him if he will reach for it. He had some amazing ABs.

Batting coaches identify “form” . They don’t fix hand/eye coordination issues.

I hit .528 my Senior year with one strike out during the season. I spent my time in batting cages. 28 consecutive hits. With no HBP, errors or walks in between was an excellent start to the season. I didn’t have a hitting coach.

After meeting with Shug, he suggested meeting with Nix. Thirty minutes with Nix. Walked out Grandad asked “What did you think?” “I wouldn’t play baseball for him. I take my chances walking on to play for Shug.”
First we had to resolve playing Japanese Industrial Baseball under contract.

Iowa IF/OF Ben Swails commits.

BMatt lists him as 3B/DH and says he hit .343 as a Jr with 9 2B, 1 3B, 5 HR and 18 RBI in 43 games with 30 starts. 9-10 on stolen bases
