I am feeling good about last night. The major thing this team needs is to be battled harden in tough environments. We are the deepest team in the country. Last night will pay dividends in March.

Yep, you always want to win, but that loss did little to hurt us in the rankings that matter. The worst thing we'll have to deal with is a little shite talking. The learning experience is worth it for later on down the road.

True.

One thing that reared its head again, that I hadn't seen much of this year: missing free throws down the stretch.

I saw a lot of our players standing around on the court watching other people play. Not going for rebounds, not covering, not moving. Getting in trouble on offense and just frantically throwing the ball to people, quick shots, horrible 3pt %. Baker had the chance to tie it with the 3rd FT. Nope. We pulled an Auburn.

Great to see the fight back in the 2nd. That will benefit us down the stretch. It's basketball. Loses will come. Just hate when they're from our rivals...

U talking about the dunk for that white guy where KD was watching instead of blocking out!

Other than Broome, in the 1st half , we looked tired and slow. We were not ready for their D pressure, especially CBM and Tre.

Settled down 2nd and just couldn’t hit any shots. We had some wide open looks! Even JWill who’s been hot all yr.

I remember seeing Broome battling 3 Bama players for a defensive rebound while everyone else stood back and watched.

We blocked several shots, then our other guys stood around while Bama collected the rebound and scored anyway.
It was a pretty pathetic effort all around, other than Broome.

This was definitely frustrating. It seemed like every block resulted in an easy bucket for bama.

That’s not uncommon in basketball… blocked shots often result in easy putback opportunities to the offense.

Bama’s lineup creates some matchup difficulties… a big one being a secondary rebounder/rim protector (esp if Williams wasn’t in the game). We saw it on Bamas last bucket from the field… a dunk follow up bc Broome was protecting the basket and no one picked up the trailing screener.

If we beat MSST today are they considered a quad 1 win?

Why would this be Quad 1 and Ole Miss wasn’t?

What’s the scouting report on Miss State? I’m aware of Tolu Smith but don’t know anything else about them. Isn’t their coach known for defense?

If we are the team we think/hope we are, we find a way to get a win today. Let's ride

Miss St is #43 in NET and Ole Miss is #61. For a home win to count as Quad 1 the opponent would have to be top 30. For a road win to be a Quad 1 the opponent only needs to be top 75.

Couldn't buy a 3 against bama. If the threes can't be a lot more consistent at clutch times, it may be a short run into the tournament.
