I thought we looked pretty good on defense all things considered in the first game.

No it wasn’t bad, but it’s a clear step down from the defense we’ve seen over the past several years. I’ll take the step down on defense and trade it for a massive step up on offense all day though.

Typical shoulder impingement syndrome. Can feel great no problems get dinged or something and the arm goes kind of numb after the pain. Numb and weak which probably led to the short shots

Not knowing any better, I thought we will score maybe in the high 60s or low 70s, 80+ against Baylor is pretty dang good. The defense will improve and if we stay healthy, it will be a good season.

Gonna be a tough arse noncon schedule but should be great for building this team. Always the goal. Get to the tourney and hope you get hot

For sure. Reminder that in the long run, the loss tonight will help us more than blowing out a small school.

Broome played great. I think Bruce has a lot to think about. He has so many capable players. Who do you send out? The different lineups are crazy to think about. Defense first or offense? Depth is a good issue?

He looked like he was out of gas in the last 4-5 minutes.
PLayed great until then, then just hit the wall. Looked like a completely different player.
BS calls didn't help either.

He is just now dealing with it. He will learn but hopefully with rehab and care it’s not an issue in a couple weeks.

Yes it looked like a bad shot but I think in a game where fouls galore are being called the roll to the basket that Denver had and he tried to softly lay it in and the dude block it as a trailer is a much worse shot. When they are calling fouls and you’re a good FT shooter go up 2 hands lay it in and collect the foul.

I was moderately impressed with Cardwell tonight. Still a couple typical Cardwell mistakes on defense but I thought he was an overall positive out there.

Yeah that was terrible shot selection. Hopefully Denver learns from that one. That shot gets blocked against most SEC teams

IMHO our defense looked much improved over last year...
until the under 4 TO.

Hard to really tell with the shitty officiating all around tonight though. I am honestly more aggravated with the absolutely atrocious inconsistent calls on both teams all night than I am with us losing a close game to a good team.
That was just unacceptable from what are supposed to be 3 "good" refs. Pitiful.

Can you imagine watching a Final Four game officiated this way by these clowns, regardless of the teams involved?

Lots of learning for a lot of guys. I’m very excited about this team. We can do it all. Shoot the 3, run pick and roll, flex cut but gotta have better passing, can get Broome down low. He will probably be the best low post player in the league, I think we will be a very good defensive team but might have some nights like tonight where they call every little touch we just have to deal with that.

Last complaint about officiating for me. If we are gonna do this playing off one foot thing then for the love please call offensive charges when a player with the ball jumps sideways into a defender when shooting. (KD might foul out every game if they do) but I still like defense in basketball

The arrogance of the NCAA allowing these clowns to call a final four is only eclipsed by their own.

Teams work too hard to get there for them to steal it all away.

Thats the kind of ball we should've been doing for years. Now we need to find leadership to win.

If we rematch with Baylor, we win, no doubt.

My unsolicited two cents, it's harsh to ban someone in the immediate aftermath of a tough loss.

I am ashamed to admit i fell asleep with about ten min left. Really surprised to wake up and find out we lost. I thought we were really in control of the game and would pull away late.

The ref issue has been addressed so i won't even go there but if both teams are in the bonus with 15 min left, that's a problem.

I liked what i saw about veg potential for this team and think when Bruce gets the rotations figured out we should be a tough out most nights. War Eagle

I like this team and I like our potential. We stay healthy and continue to gel, this will be a fun year.

A mid ref crew and we win this game.

Pat Adams and Doug Simmons (the guy watching UVA double dribble @ F4) hate Auburn and they don't mind showing it.

Fair take. And I agree. I think it’s also fair to say that he’s had a very long leash to this point.
