What potentially sets theirs apart is that it seems incorporated into the stadium
It’s nice, and they certainly have made no bones about their desire to invest in CFB. I think our football facility holds up, though

The problem with trying to keep up is that it is impossible. Things change every year and unless you are going to rebuild your facility every few years, new ones will come out that have more swag
Same with boats and cars.

Yeahthat is pretty cool. I'd say they're pretty similar as far as amenities. I didn't see the hydro therapy pools that people were so hyped about ours in Tech's.
I think the drone fly-through is cooler than the facility though. I used to watch some guy's YouTube channel where he got paid to plan and shoot these types of videos for companies as part of their recruitment of employees. It is really cool to see him do his in one long shot.

TTU has made it clear they have an open pocketbook for both facilities and paying players. They are all in and determined to reach new heights in CFB.

Facilities are so 2019. Since NIL they are less important.
Auburn actually needed a new facility, though. They hadn't had many updates since the 1980s and didn't have a dedicated football facility (they had to share with all sports). The old weight room was shitty, for instance and the indoor practice field was crappy.
AU's is still state of the art, but it doesn't have a much "bling" as some of the ones built in the past couple of years.

Is there going to be a cliff in sports?
I grew up listening to the radio. There was one college game on TV each week. A good player could be had for a decent summer job, and a great player could be bought with a new car.
Is the next generation as sports centric as the group over 60 years old?
The devotion to sport may take a hit with the next generation.
Is 90 million a once per decade expense or do you just continue to ante up 10 million a year for facilities and whatever the salary cap is?

There will be a remnant of college football in about 20 years. No way TV contracts can hold without going bankrupt. Even if it does hold there are probably only 20-25 teams that have the desire to spend 50-60 million a year for coaches and players to compete.
You see it in our own fanbase. Players have to be perfect in every way on the field. QBs have to complete every pass or they are garbage, running backs have to break every tackle, linemen have to never miss a block, FG kickers can never miss a FG, punters never shank a punt, linebackers never fill the wrong gap, safeties never miss on open field tackle, corner never get burned. The expectation of perfection from the fans is toxic. There is no joy for the fan because of what might happen the next play, the next game, or the next season.
Just watch basketball fans will be miserable this season because we have had success lately but I suspect we won’t be dominate but just a normal “good” SEC team.

Next phase, the quality of NFL play will decline. Consider, if I am a good player in college but not certain of a first three round pick, I take half a million and stay with my college team. I file suit for a fifth or even sixth year. The average life of a pro player is 2.4 years, I wear out my body in college and are not drafted.
Pretty soon, the NFL will have superstars....and a bunch of scrubs for the balance of the team.
Ohio state did this this past year, paying comparable NFL wages to tell guys to wait a year and go higher in the draft and make good money while you wait.....forget the fact you are wearing the tread on that body.

All that needs to upgraded is the equipment. You don’t have to build a new house.

And, you know it can be tax deductible. Pay a football player to wear your shirt, save a ton of taxes.
