Alabama basketball is starting to bleed a little. Primo has chosen to stay in the draft and Jayden Shackelford has entered the portal
Schackelford is a surprise. I thought he would have a breakout year if he stayed. Wonder why he would decide to transfer from the success of last year?
Primo showed up well in the combine and put him pretty solidly in the first round which surprised him...

Breakout year? He was there leading scoring last year.

Bama literally had 15 players on scholarship by my count with the new additions so they had to get rid of at least two. Compare to auburn who has 11.

He was still second fiddle to the Petty/Jones show. Just look at the awards. Not even top 10 in the SEC in scoring. He was 2nd team All-Sec.
Breakout year in the SEC....meaning lots of pub as the main guy on his team...

Did y'all know that Trey Alexander landed with Creighton?
LINK (funny, not one word of Auburn or him being previously signed with another team)
I kind of just assumed he was going to end up with Oklahoma and forgot about him.
But they never offered.
Creighton has the #5 class, so that's impressive (5 signees, all top 150)
Also, apparently Creighton is in Omaha
I always kind of assumed they were in Indiana, or maybe like western Pennsylvania or some shite
SIAP,
He signed almost a month ago, but I just heard today. I didn't remember seeing it in here, and I searched..

7’ Kofi Cockburn,
Best player in the big 10 last year and fav non Auburn player to watch. I honestly don't know if Bruce will seriously go after him but I'd love to see a lineup of
PG Wendell Green
SG 6'6 Allen Flannigan
SF 6'10 Jabari Smith
PF 7' Kofi Cockburn
C 7'1 Walker Kessler

Getting a big guy would just be gravy but this team needs a true 2 that shoots 40+ % from 3. He can be long or short doesn’t matter just need that guy that can go for 12-15 each night

Agreed. I like where we stand, but I really liked it having a guy like Desi that could go off from 3.

Where's Bryce Brown when you need him?

That's funny you posted this....I was thinking the same thing when I found out he had signed with Creighton.
Creighton? I thought I knew my sports teams and locations but I failed miserably on this one. I too thought it was up north somewhere like Ill, Ohio, etc...but Omaha? lol.
It sounds like he simply wanted to stay closer to home maybe for his family to come see him. Would like to know why the Big 12 was not after him incl OK...

Oral Roberts star Kevin Obanor enters transfer portal
Wonder if we'll go after him
quote:
Oral Roberts forward Kevin Obanor, one of the breakout stars of the NCAA tournament, entered the transfer portal as a graduate transfer Friday morning.
Obanor, a 6-foot-8 forward from Houston, has been one of the most productive players in the Summit League the past three seasons. As a junior, he earned first-team All-Summit honors after averaging 18.7 points and 9.6 rebounds, while shooting 46.3% from 3-point range. He averaged 12.3 points and 6.8 boards as a sophomore and 14.8 points and 7.4 rebounds as a freshman.
As a 15-seed in the NCAA tournament, Oral Roberts made a Cinderella run to the Sweet 16 before falling to Arkansas by two points. Obanor was outstanding during the run, going for 30 points and 11 rebounds against Ohio State and then 28 points and 11 boards against Florida. He tallied a double-double in the loss to the Razorbacks.
While the deadline to enter the portal and be eligible next season was July 1, Obanor is presumed to have begun the compliance process before the deadline. Moreover, his status as a graduate transfer could make the deadline irrelevant in his case.
Obanor and teammate Max Abmas both entered the NBA draft following the season, although Abmas is yet to withdraw his name. He has until Wednesday to announce a return to college.
Wonder if we'll go after him

Why would we? Our front court is loaded

And I laugh when I hear it when someone enters the portal, and the first question on here is always "are we going after him"? Like Pearl is going to go after every good transfer...

We have room, right?
We definitely don’t need to be in a situation like last year where we are down 3 players at any given position.
