SIAP:
Tigers to face strong competition in Battle 4 Atlantis tournament

quote:

AUBURN, Alabama–The Auburn basketball team will face what should be a strong field in the 2021 Battle 4 Atlantis Tournament, which is scheduled for Nov. 24-26 on Paradise Island in The Bahamas.

Coach Bruce Pearl’s team will be making its first appearance in the event that is scheduled to include Arizona State, Baylor, Connecticut, Loyola-Chicago, Michigan State, Syracuse and Virginia Commonwealth. Baylor, Loyola-Chicago and Syracuse have advanced to this year’s NCAA Tournament Sweet 16.

The last time the Tigers played a regular season basketball game outside the United States was in 2016-17 at the Cancun Challenge in Mexico. The Tigers defeated Texas Tech 67-65 and fell 96-71 to a Purdue team that was ranked 17th nationally. Also with Pearl as head coach, the Tigers played exhibition games in Italy prior to the 2017-18 season in which the Tigers posted a 26-8 record and won the Southeastern Conference regular season championship.

quote:

The Tigers are coming off a 13-14 season after posting a 25-6 mark in 2019-20. Pearl’s 2021-22 team is expected to have most of its key players from the previous year returning for the coming season.

Teams in the 2021 Battle 4 Atlantis field have combined for eight national championships, 27 Final Four appearances and 70 conference championships.

CBP has raised our profile so much.

I know this year was disappointing, however, we would have had a winning season IF NCAA had not treated Cooper so poorly.

The future is bright.

Apparently we’ve offered Pinson. He seemed to always give us hell.

To put things in perspective:

The Eric Ramsey scandal broke when the Montgomery Adverstiser went public with his story of improper benefits from AU on 9/27/91. The NCAA launched an investigation soon after, and AU was placed on probation on 8/18/93.

9/27/91-8/18/93 = 692 days

The FBI arrested Chuck Person on 9/26/17, bringing to light the charges that he accepted payments on behalf of AU players. Today is 3/24/21.

9/26/17-3/24/21 = 1276 days and counting

It truly is insane. If ever there were a plea for "time served" in college athletics... we've reached that point. Going on a 4 year black mark/recruiting hit.

Let's call Trump.

He knows how to organize storm troopers for a protest...

Yeah normally I would scoff at the notion of bucking up against the NCAA but we are well past the point of the punishment fitting the crime

We need one that works, not one that ends with MAGA Chip Gaines getting arrested.

Nobody respects them. Look at Kansas and Duke. North Carolina. Memphis.

All of these teams cheat.

Jaemyn Brakefield is in the portal. We liked our chances before Duke swooped in.

JBoy stating on Twitter that “Sharife is probably gone to the NBA”, but JBoy also stated that Mario Cristobal would probably be AU’s next football coach so I’d take it with a grain of salt

He made that post based upon some grade that Shariffe allegedly received but no college players have been evaluated yet so who knows
