The tackle just looked like he got choked out. When he tried to stand, looked more like a head injury.

Was odd

Well, he cleared concussion protocol and been cleared to play. Maybe they put you in concussion protocol when you tweak a nerve.

He has been in the concussion protocol but not because he sustained a concussion. You also have to go through the protocol, if you sustained a stinger(a pinched nerve injury to the neck or spine). It has been widely reported that he tweaked a nerve in his neck, not that he sustained a concussion.

https://www.nfl.com/playerhealthandsafety/health-and-wellness/player-care/concussion-protocol-return-to-participation-protocol

I just thought it might be important, that if we’re going to be making comparisons between the injuries of two players, to point out that they sustained two different injuries. One had a major concussion that has caused symptoms for weeks, the other had a nerve pinched in his neck and had symptoms for a few minutes.

Fair enough. I was under the assumption it was a concussion, that’s why I made the comparison. I stand corrected

All of our contributors last year were seniors or Okoro. McCormick, Doughty, Okoro, Purifoy, Wiley, McLemore all got the majority of playing time. Hard for the young guys to bust into a ton of PT with that veteran group. I believe 82% of minutes played last year are gone. It doesn't help that we're however many games in so far and Cooper and Powell haven't even seen the floor together yet.

why are we so "young"

Someone smarter than me can tell you about the period where we took some scholarship deductions and it put a bathtub effect on the # of certain year players. (I can't remember the details)

But the statistics of what we lost from last year's team to this year's team is astounding. I dug for the tweet or the stat, but I can't find the graphic. I believe it was on the side of the screen during one of the games. Basically 90% of scoring and minutes played from last year, left. That's an enormous amount. This team has some pieces, if we could get everyone on the court together, we might win one or two we weren't supposed to.

We missed an entire year of recruiting as a self imposed penalty because of the Person fiasco... That class would be juniors.

We also were playing for a high seed in the tourney last year so winning games down the stretch were very important for seeding.

Therefore Jaylin and Stretch didn't get the playing time they needed for real game experience.

Like I have mentioned before that under Bruce we will always be a heavy PG led team but I was shocked the other night when the commentators mentioned that in Coopers first 3 games that on average he had his hand on the ball more the Harden handled the ball at Houston. So with or without Powell we have to get more ball movement on offense and continue to develop on defense. Yes we are very young.

We have lost a few games we should/could have won. I expected a team in the middle of the pack in the SEC just on talent. I said before the season that if we could play .500 conference ball and by the end of the season playing as good as any in the top 4 of the conference then Bruce would have done a great job. But looking now and I mentioned it last week that as of now this is the worst season coaching by Bruce since he's been at AU.

Everyone keeps saying that with a year of experience and if Cooper comes back and Powell healthy that we are a Top 10 team next year. I don't see it. I see a bubble team. The talent is there yes but finding correct roles is needed. Why is Franklin getting minutes that Moore should be getting? Who's your 4? Thor or Jaylin? Thor isn't a 5... So why not get the rotation set for Cardwell and Stretch at the 5?

I think BP is trying to do some of things you mentioned.

The only reason Franklin is getting so much playing time is bc Moore hurt is hand in the Bama game and just came back at Ark. He also knew Franklin would play better in front of home state. But look at box scores from past, Moore been getting more playing time.

I think BP is trying to get Cardwell more work at the 5, as he seems to have a good repiore with Cooper and provides more bulk around the basket. He jsut is getting into too much foul trouble lately and has had to sit.
And I believe in the ARK game Cardwell AND Stretch got in foul trouble quick, so THor had to play some there....

I think first, this team is so young, they don't play 40 mins of D like Bruce needs from them. That's what happens when a team has no vets to calm the ship, so to speak.

And we still are too careless with the ball, so too many TOs.

Jabari Smith and Trey Alexander is a big part of why Auburn thinks it’s in a good spot for 2021

Scouts unsure what to think about Auburn's Sharife Cooper

Evaluators sound unsure about whether to buy Cooper's stats and exciting highlights from an NBA scouting standpoint.

He's averaging 22.5 points and 8.3 assists, a number that would lead the nation if he qualified with enough games. But is there substance behind the flash?

His enormous 37.3 percent usage, 3-of-22 start from three and 4.5 turnovers per game have made some question the legitimacy of Cooper's production (in terms of translating to the NBA), especially given his 6'1" size, slight frame, limited explosion, set-shot mechanics and heavy ball-dominance.

Multiple scouts have expressed some hesitation. One scout said he viewed Cooper at the next level as more of a key reserve than full-time lead decision-maker.

But everyone acknowledges his combination of tight ball-handling, vision and unselfishness for setting up teammates. On Wednesday night, Arkansas started trapping Cooper before he crossed half court, forcing him to pass it off due to how dangerous he'd been zigging and zagging through the Razorbacks defense.

Scoring efficiency aside, Cooper's ability to create open looks for others is highly valuable at every level, and with an elite mix of speed, change of direction and passing skills, it's easy to buy the playmaking. Whether he can convince scouts on the likelihood of his finishing and shooting improving will determine whether he's a lottery point guard or one worth taking in the late teens/20s.

If he's first round he will be gone in my opinion. Even in the teens you are talking 2+ million a year.

His poor shooting from 3 I think will keep him from being a first rounder this year. So maybe we will have him 2 years. Us not being able to go to the tournament will hurt him a lot because guard play is so important and a couple guys will burst on the scene in the tournament.

That may have been the ugliest stretch of basketball I’ve see from two teams. Perfectly capped off with a wide open three airball

Not sure what Bruce said in the timeout, but it looks like they woke up.

Also Frank is the antithesis of Bruce and Oats. SC loves to shoot a long two.
