Jabari Smith’s team squared off against Scoot’s last night and Jabari’s won. Jabari is impressively accurate from deep.

Check out his contested 3 from DEEP that forced OT.

I think it goes to show with the right person leading the charge we can succeed in anything. Resources are available

Interesting...

Jon Rothstein
@JonRothstein
Sources: Conference-USA has voted in favor of having its teams play two regular season games against the same opponent in the same location each week during the 20-21 season. Games will be on Thursdays and Saturdays.

Seems wise. Wonder if SEC would consider the same thing but also stagger some pairings to Wednesday-Friday for TV purposes

I assume that would be at a neutral site?
It would seem unfair if they played both games at one conference team's home location.

Want. He is surprisingly athletic for a guy that young and that y’all. Add in the fact that he can shoot the three.

J Lee says Kansas has already offered him. And Kentucky is keeping contact with him, so Auburn is making a strong push to lock him in now.

Gene. have you asked “can he shoot the 3” yet because I’m dying to know the answer.

Per Rothstein tweet, "Highly placed spies in Alabama have relayed word that Jamal Johnson has been the early preseason surprise for Auburn. Could start at SG alongside Sharife Cooper."

This would not merely "surprise me"... it would blow my mind. He really struggled last year on both ends.

I’d be surprised if he improved that much on defense. Offensively he was one of our better three shooters, just seemed to vanish most games. If he and Cambridge can get some consistency in there three point shooting then this team becomes a lot tougher.

In many sports, we have seen 'preseason surprise' evaluations that never result in those being positive or factual.

So I reserve the right to see how JJ performs in a real game first before I see him as a quality SG.

p.s. He still is one of our worst defenders and he is going to have to show improvement there too.

I mean, if he has stepped up his consistency, I could see it

We've got talent but we're going to take a serious step back just from losing so many seniors. I can't imagine Bruce wants to run through an entire conference schedule from start to finish starting a bunch of freshmen and sophomores if he can help it

Absolutely. Jamal was so one dimensional last year.
