Never thought I'd see a day when I was more excited about basketball season than football.

I've actually always been more excited about basketball.. until now. The cancelled tourney last year for some reason took a lot of wind out of my basketball sails.

I know it's easy to hate on Gus...but the way Bruce's teams always play hard and seem to execute his philosophy even when out manned makes watching the herp derp games Gus has brought tough for me.

Basketball was created to bridge the gap between football and baseball.

What’s the upside in that? Bruce doesn’t seem like he’s the type of coach that is successful in the NBA.

He knows that if he stays at Auburn he can build a legacy as the greatest coach of all time and have a building named after him. In the NBA, he’s just another coach. I bet Billy Donovan would take his decision back if he could.

I don’t know why Bruce couldn’t do well in the league, but don’t think he wants to. His players love him and he lets players be themselves. Unlike Saban Pearl has a personality that can carry him to wherever he needs to go. Saban couldn’t. He tried to treat professionals like college kids. We are blessed to have him

If he did bolt I’d have my suspicions as to why.

As for Billy Donovan, it’s not like he did bad there. For whatever reason that organization loves athletes and not shooters and that costed them a lot. To your overall point, we will probably agree it’s career suicide if he goes to a shitty job like the Pels.

What prompted that guy to even say that about Pearl and the NBA?

Pearl is what 60? I don't see him jumping into a total different arena at this late stage of his basketball life.

And he was born to coach young men with his personality, and he fits the college atmosphere to a T.

Gus to the NFL was an actual rumor at one time.

I wish the Browns had hired him. We would be working on our 5th straight national title with Muschamp right now.

Hooks is saying AU. He's also saying that as of today Powell has outplayed Sharife at PG. Little shocked by the latter though he did say he expected Sharife to be our starting PG in the end.

I feel like I heard JGT say he’s heard that Powell has been a better passer than they expected. Powell is definitely the better shooter of the two.

ETA: I’d still be very surprised if that’s true though. I know Cooper isn’t some crazy bucket getter, but my hope for this year has been that he is able to find the open man enough to make up for a lack of offensive firepower.

Yeah, I knew we were getting a gem in Powell but that's hard to believe.

Big Powell guy here. Didn’t see that coming. Not sure I completely believe it either. Also not totally sure I love Powell at point even though I like his handle and ability to drive to the rim from point

More recruiting:

247 says Auburn is running right behind Purdue for ‘22 4* CG Jameel Brown right now. Could come down to whether Brown is able to visit campus at some point
