JD and Jabari Smith are the top 2 on the board.

Top 2 players yes. Jabari has perimeter skills no doubt but he's probably a 5 in our system

We are only taking 2 commits. Maybe and it's a big maybe 3. We have only one scholarship coming available at the end of the year so will have to make room for any more then one.

There are things JD obviously likes about Auburn, especially Pearl and Bowman but I don’t foresee him signing with Auburn. I think he ends up at Bama. His family is all Bama.

I think AU leads for JD. Is even with LSU for Jabari. That’s pretty good considering Jabari’s dad played at LSU

What information has formed your opinion? I wouldn’t think that because of Jboy. He has been wrong a lot.

I think we have a much better shot with Jabari than JD at the moment.

Although I understand why, there isn’t the family connection with LSU that Bama has going for them but you never know, money can change a lot of things.

I have no idea who Jboy is and sounds like how he’s been described on this board that he’s an idiot or something.

In basketball I just listen to the talking heads about what they hear.

In football I can get information from high school coaches sometimes but during the season it’s more difficult.

Also, Davison tweeted save the date of Halloween. Could be a big day for us.

I think you're correct on Davidson with no knowledge but a gut feel.

Regardless, as long as Pearl is the Head Coach we'll be top 25 in recruiting - which is astonishing at AU - and we'll generally be in the final 32 in the NCAA tourney every year if not better. Of all the coaches over the years at AU, Pearl seems to get as close to a team's potential in actual performance, with some over-performance mixed in for good measure. Even early in his tenure at AU he was squeezing juice out of a dehydrated lemon. Pearl's zone/flex offense from Dr. Tom Davis is perfect at a place like AU, and kids love to play in it.

What are the talking heads saying about JD that makes you think Auburn will be his choice? Might be something I haven’t heard. Or is that just your gut feeling?

Can't remember who I heard it from but it was a couple people that think we lead for JD and expect him to commit sooner then most think. I try not to go off gut feeling because I'm always wrong on gut feelings about where I think a player should go

It's been reported by the recruit folks that keep up with that stuff that Jabari really likes AU and the staff. I don't have subscription stuff so hard for me to link to an article or anything
