Our schedule is pretty weak, but it needed to be. We are not a very strong team, and we still need to make it to the tournament. Hopefully next year we have a better schedule. It should. I believe we are in some tournament in Orlando with a bunch of March Madness teams

It's funny how in football SEC fans point to scheduling strength

For basketball SEC fans point to W/L

Seems like we get the short end of the stick in both

It's not weak. It's just not top heavy.

Some. AU, Gonzaga, & Mich St are the headliners. Xavier makes NCAA Tourney runs a good bit as well.

Our SOS is #75 per Kenpom, #89 per ESPN BPI. Of P5 teams in the ESPN BPI top 50, we have the worst SOS (#41 of 50)

Not sure what your definition of weak is but it should be considered subpar at best

Moving forward though, this should hopefully change as AU's building bball reputation will attract higher quality games + tournaments

I don't use those. I use the NCAA's SOS since that's what the committee uses. Per the NCAA team sheets that came out today our SOS is 47 & noncon SOS 39, both quality marks. The other SOS metrics you mentioned may actually be better but since the committee doesn't use their SOSs I don't worry with them.

Seth Davis has us unranked and has Wisconsin at 25. He should look at our 3 common opponents of NC State, Richmond, and New Mexico

Dude’s a troll. He also said San Diego State had a gritty win today against UNLV, completely ignoring the fact that UNLV is 11-11 and not a good team.

ETA: He also said he thinks they can run the table, but that they’ve got some tough games ahead. Their toughest game left would maybe be our 8th or 9th toughest game.

I don't think anyone is worse at ranking teams than Davis. There is no logic or consistency

We dropped a spot in AP to 17.... in Kentucky week. Can you imagine how much our 2 loss team will jump if we win Saturday?

Depends how other teams do but my guess is 3-4 spots.

I think we simply replace Kentucky's current spot+1 at best since they are only 13.

It's wild to me Kentucky didn't move up more. Pollsters are really down on the SEC

AP "I only pay attention to final scores" Poll. Hate that guy. Indiana manages an epic chokejob against a team playing like garbage for 2+ weeks, and of course the two biggest Auburn hating pollsters that have us unranked have them 12 and 16. Some have no issues with Maryland's OOC. Wonder why? Their only ranked win is a 1 point win over Illinois at home in December, an Illinois that had just lost to Miami at home.

Dayton being at 7 and Auburn all the way down at 17 is odd to me. I could see ranking them ahead of us but not by 10 spots.

Blame the Toppin star factor and Saint Louis choking that game away for that one.

17 to 7 for beating a UK team that lost to Evansville & & lost at SC? I would be shocked if we jumped that much. That would take a bunch of teams in front of us losing IMO.

Beating UGA is ho hum. Winning at Tech is good but not outstanding. Tech fell out of the top 25 by losing to UK & TCU this week. Teams don't usually make huge jumps in the polls unless they have 2 or more good to great wins in a week or have huge drops unless they loss 2 or more games in a week.

We only have 2 losses. The only reason why we are so low is because they claim we haven’t played anybody. Kentucky should help put the fact that we only have two losses to the forefront. That’s my thinking anyway.
