How the teams looked in those wins/losses is also a factor... we got blown out twice, and the wins lately have been closer than we would’ve liked.

Dayton being at 7 and Auburn all the way down at 17 is odd to me. I could see ranking them ahead of us but not by 10 spots.
On resume paper as it is now their 2 losses to Kansas & Colorado in close games (both in OT) are better than our 2 blowout losses to teams with a bit worse resumes right now. They had Kansas on the ropes for much of their game too. They also have 3 Quad 1 wins to our 1.

We only have 2 losses. The only reason why we are so low is because they claim we haven’t played anybody. Kentucky should help put the fact that we only have two losses to the forefront. That’s my thinking anyway.
Completely understand your thinking. I'm just saying from observing how the polls tend to work it usually doesn't work that way unless there's at least 2 perceived good wins in a week.

I have no issue with the ranking. If we're genuinely the #17 team in the country right now - that's awesome.

I base that on ignoring our W-L record and just assessing how've played against decent to good opponents. It's a pretty mixed bag.

The ranking will take care of itself with our remaining schedule I think. Just can’t shite the bed

Bruce Pearl and Flanigan attended one of Jerdarion Davison’s games. He is one of the top 2021 PGs in the state and country. We were one of his first offers before he exploded onto the scene. He plays for Alabama Fusion in AAU.

Per Caldwell.

I'm concerned. Everyone in here thinking about the irrelevant AP poll and how far we jump if we beat UK. We aren't a good road team and historically struggle with OM. A loss tonight headed into a difficult stretch in our schedule would be cause for concern. I think we find a way to win, but my confidence level is low.

There was an article up yesterday about the two games we lost to Ole Miss last year. I’m sure the team has been reminded of it. We’ll see

I'm very concerned. Classic trap game. Ole miss had a nice road win saturday and played lsu down to the wire. I will take a one point win and be happy (while many fans will be melting).

Does anybody know the CBB site that projects among many other things:
-how many wins we need to make the tournament?
-Projected record
-Chances of making it to elite 8/ final four/ NC etc

It was very handy last year.

I promise CBP has been hammering the two L's from last year and how important this game is into their heads. Doesn't mean the players won't look past it to Saturday but not for CBP's lack of trying.

Melting over any remaining road Ws on the schedule seems silly

It’s hard to win on the road in conference play

While I'm certain we will make the tourney one way or another, it's stressful knowing we need 5 wins cause when you look at the schedule, there certainly aren't 5 guaranteed wins left.

Remaining Schedule, Confidence Level 1-5
@Ole Miss 3
Kentucky 2
@Arky 1
LSU 4 (LSU is good but I like how we matchup esp. at home)
Alabama 3
@Missouri 4
@Georgia 3
Tennessee 4
Ole Miss 4
@Kentucky 1
Texas A&M 5
@Tennessee 2

I like your confidence level numbers. We need to win the 4s and 5s. Steal a 1 or 2 and we are good.

Love that site. Use it often. Our highest percentage seed chances are the 4 & 5.

I like looking at the confidence ratings and laying out the schedule like this. But this actually makes me much more confident in getting 7 or so more wins.

While we do have a very tough schedule coming up with Ole Miss, UK, Arky, LSU, I think our schedule after that sets up real nicely.

No way we lose to Alabama again. At home, rivalry game, we are the better team, can’t see us getting swept by Bama. Then you follow that up with Missouri, UGA, Tennessee, Ole Miss.

If we win the 4’s and 5’s, take 2 out of 3 from the 3’s, win 1 of the 1’s and 2’s, that’s 8 more wins and puts us at 12-6 in conference. I think that’s doable.
