Bowl has posted.... I take this as a good sign for Auburn... If Mark Schlabach since Scumbag did not include Auburn in the article... Seems to validate the NCAA is focusing on recruiting violation.

Damn can basketball season hurry up. Been watching highlights of the tourney run. Everyone was hitting on all cylinders. I think that was tops of my Auburn fandom.

Harper is in a good spot to make the Suns roster and actually get some decent minutes this year.

His+/- wasn't nearly as bad as some of his teammates

No idea how TF that works out

From what I can tell the +/- stat is useless lol. He had a rough night shooting for sure though. Still played good defense and rebounded well. I wish they would have played him more in the other games so he could find more of a rhythm.

Bryce is going to have a hard time making the Kings roster, but he will at least make someones G league squad.

It wouldn't surprise me at all if Harper made the Suns roster, but he should at least get a 2 way contract.

Depends a lot on context. Someone smart needs to design an advanced +/- that weights based on who was on the floor

I've seen the worse player on the floor have a positive +/- and the best player be negative. Its just a stat people made up to justify having jobs to me lol

I'll probably post them later when more clips come in, but Sharife Cooper, Boston and a few other guys are in town here playing at the Peach Jam and are playing like you would expect elite talent to play.

It is trying to help value guys whose contributions don't show up on the stat sheet.

Players like Al Horford, Klay Thompson or Draymond Green all contribute in ways that are hard to measure based on box scores for example

Legends Classic Matchups Revealed

quote:

Four basketball matchups in total were announced on Thursday, all part of the Legends Classic.

In the 2 preliminary games, both held at Auburn Arena, the Tigers will first host the Cal State Northridge Matadors, out of the Big West Conference, on Friday November 15th (The night before the Auburn/Georgia football game). The Matadors are coached by former Alabama Head Coach Mark Gottfried.

On Monday November 18th, the Tigers will welcome the Colgate Raiders, out of the Patriot League, to town. The Raiders made the NCAA Tournament this past year after winning the Patriot League Tournament and fell 77-70 to Tennessee in the 1st Round. They return guard Jordan Burns, who scored 32 points against the Volunteers.

quote:

The scene shifts to the Big Apple the following week as Auburn will first face the New Mexico Lobos, out of the Mountain West, on Monday November 25th. The next day, they will face either the Wisconsin Badgers, out of the Big 10, or the Richmond Spiders, out of the Atlantic 10. Both of these games will be played at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn.

With today’s announcement, that leaves 4 spots that are still unknown in Auburn’s non-conference schedule. They will play Davidson in the Veterans Classic on November 8th, host Lipscomb and N.C. State, and travel to South Alabama. They also have a game in the SEC/Big 12 Challenge on January 25th with an opponent still TBD.

We should be learning soon of more scheduling updates. Last year, Auburn’s full non-conference schedule came around the latter portion of July with the full schedule released in late August. War Eagle!

He is a 2019 prospect. Apparently, he has delayed his commitment announcement since the new offers. Something to watch.

We just offered a 2019 SG/SF who apparently plays travel ball with Sharife Cooper...

Some notes from JLee
-Major AU target
-Had an impressive Summer AAU season
-Was going to commit yesterday, likely to WVU
-AU offer & interest made him hold off on committing
-Expected to OV in the next 2-3 weeks
-Will enroll in August at his school if choice.
