Yeah, for most it seems like they either have the skills/measurables to go early or not. There are a few exceptions like Davion Mitchell that make the big jump coming back, but most don't seem to have huge leaps.

VMI center Jake Stephens plans to enter the transfer portal, he told ESPN. Will be a graduate transfer. First-team All-SoCon selection. 19.6 PPG, 9.0 RPG, 3.3 APG — 6-foot-11 and shoots 49% from 3. Will be a highly sought-after transfer.

Seriously, would be an amazing fit for us with Traore.

He even shot 49% from 3 with volume. He threw up about the same number of shots that KD took.

Yep. When I first saw his 3% I assumed he took like 8 three’s but he took a ton.

HERE are his highlights from their Wofford game. He’s got a nice, quick release for a big man on his outside shot. He’s soft with a lot of his shots around the rim though. Not a single dunk. That’s a lot easier to teach and instill than a poor shot though.

He is highly skilled but I suspect he is not a fit defensively.

I'm glad I'm not the one making decisions on guys like that. Looks like he can score, but I'm not sure if he's athletic enough for the SEC.

Yeah with him we probably couldn’t switch on every screen like we have in the past. This puts a ton of pressure on the guards to beat every screen. We will find out soon if he pops up on any of the pay sites as an option. But we all know Bruce doesn’t play when it comes to defense.

Also JLee put an update out that Murray is now looking like he’s going to Georgetown. Two big factors are that it appears Flanny is back and Georgetown has Nickleberry on their staff.

Still hard after Phillips. Staff is optimistic about him coming for a visit. Auburn, FSU, Tennessee, and now Georgetown (because of Nickleberry) are the presumed leaders.

Still working on some of the reclass guys.

Thinks Broome and Bates could visit soon.

Good lord, that’s awful. Flanigan sucks.

I strongly suspect we will see a much better Flanigan this year. He just never got his handle of the ball back this season.

How good will he be though? Probably the key to the season if he is who we roll with at the 3.

I also saw on Twitter that Devin Ree leaders are Auburn and UL. Hadn't heard much of him before. 2022 Wing.

He couldn’t be much worse.

Chris Moore and Stretch are wasted scholarships in my eyes, and Flanigan is entering that territory.

Interesting to see us mentioned with Ree now. He sounds like a really good shooting wing, hopefully we actually go after him. Be nice to have one of those 3-4 year three point shooters on the roster. If we have room to grab Ree and Phillips along with one of the transfer centers our roster would be in a really good spot.

There are 13 basketball scholarships and only 10 guys get playing time in the most deep rotations. Moore and Stretch aren't wasted scholarships by any means. They are about as solid as you can get at the backend of your bench. Are you expecting a bunch of All-SEC caliber guys sitting on your bench, getting no playing time. Moore and Stretch could both be starting at a mid-major if they wanted to leave.

And Flanigan really struggled offensively this year, but gets not credit for how solid he was defensively. He averaged 14 points, 3 assists, and shot 34% from 3 two years ago. He would have been our best player on the team Pre-Bruce. We just need him to get back to form and contribute as a solid starter next year. Hope he does.
