Excited to see Gatewood and Nix next year. Hoping one of them dominates the Spring and gets named the starter early.

He’s sitting out 2019 which doesn’t seem particularly helpful for us

Still 4 months left in the transfer market. Could be a while before other quality options come available.

It could bomb, but I just want to see Gatewood or Nix earn the start.

Enos to UM. Hurts will probably follow. Hits keep coming for Saban.

Or Maryland who Hurts is visiting this weekend. Their coach is the former Alabama OC and he has hired other people that have a good relationship with Hurts.

Gonna be a helluva QB battle between Hurts, Gatewood, Martell, and Nix

No thanks. Twitter hardass that tucked tail and ran when Fields showed up. Roll with what we got.

Second, this is the Gus audition year and I want him to do it with a guy who has been in the system for a year and a guy who might as well have been (born to be an AU QB). Sink or swim with the guys you've hand picked to be on this roster over the last 2-3 years.

what is this nonsense?

Frankly, IDGAF who he "does" is with at QB, I just want the QB to peform well and not look scared to death like JJ and JS.

No. Gus’s audition year should be with the best QB he can put out there. You just want him to fail with his own QBs.

I don't want him to fail

I just don't want him using a transfer as a stopgap to get 8-9 wins and cover his poor program management

Tate doesn’t seem to like adversity. I feel like he maybe wouldn’t be a great leader if things go south or if Gus calls a bad game

Everyone agrees he's a huge tool

His real name is Tathan and he looks like Spencer Pratt FFS

It would be nice if we could use Gatewood, but I’m a football fan. Regardless of whether Gus succeeds and how he succeeds, it still sucks and pisses me off all night when we lose. Whatever it takes.

Edit: Typo.

To be clear, I want Gus to succeed. I just don't want to enjoy very modest success that prolongs the inevitable if he's not going to change how he manages the program.

If they really think Martell can help us then whatever, I just don't want to be in a position 2 years from now (especially if we only have moderate success to show for it) where we still have no clue if Gus & Co. can develop a QB at Auburn.

And the sales pitch so easy for Gus, "Hey Jalen, how would you like to play in your fourth Championship Game, maybe win two at different schools, anyone done that before?"... sign me up coach.

I think most people assume Martell goes to Miami.. He has a few high school teammates that go there now. If I was him I would be trying to get into Oklahoma though. Kyler Murrary was mediocre at A&M but under Riley he might be a 1st round pick.. No telling what he could do with Martell.

I don't really want Hurts either though. He's ok and he's improved, but he's still far from a sure thing. I would rather take an unranked OT at this point.
