Excerpt from CBS Sports article:

According to Martell's most recent Twitter activity, he has followed Miami's Manny Diaz, West Virginia's Neal Brown and Auburn offensive coordinator Kenny Dillingham. All three of those programs seem to be in the market for quarterbacks after losing a starter this season — Malik Rosier for the Hurricanes, Will Grier with the Mountaineers and Jarrett Stidham at Auburn.
An RPO-heavy dual threat coming out of high school, Martell is a scheme-specific quarterback who seemed to be a fit with the Buckeyes within Ryan Day's tempo-based offense. He redshirted as a four-star true freshman in 2017 before performing in spots as Dwayne Haskins' primary backup this season.

Hey, I would be happy to take him - the more the merrier when it comes to QBs.

At this point, I think I'd prefer to go with what we've got. First, Tathan "Tate" seems like a huge douchebag and may not be an upgrade.

Second, this is the Gus audition year and I want him to do it with a guy who has been in the system for a year and a guy who might as well have been (born to be an AU QB). Sink or swim with the guys you've hand picked to be on this roster over the last 2-3 years.

No. Gus’s audition year should be with the best QB he can put out there. You just want him to fail with his own QBs.

I'll happily take Tate but I'm rooting for Bo Nix as the savior. Don't ask me why.

Want to learn a little bit about Tate Martell and the immature BS that is a guaranteed part of his package deal - watch "QB1" on Netflix and see what you think. I don't think that even desperate-to-win Gus would have him anywhere near the program whether hes a talented QB or not.

I hope Gatewood is the guy giving Bo time to learn the system, and prepare for SEC football. Joey has been loyal to AU and he has the physical talents and bidy to be a great dual threat qb. I reallly hope he proves to be the starter giving Gus a true running and passing qb. I understan that Dabo decided to change his qb from Bryant because he knew that to win the natty, you need a strong passing game. I agree. Hope Gatewood has developed that part of his game but hard to tell because our coach has kept him from playing and getting any game experience.
Unless we are in fire straights, this is not the time to disrupt the locker room

I do too....but if he isn't, Malik scares me to death.

Expecting a lot out of a true freshman is dying by a slow death. Some have done great things, but those types are few and far between.

Was that the one with Fromm also?

Yeah it had Martell, Fromm, and a black dude with a good attitude that went to a smaller D1 (don't recall his name though). Actually a cool concept for a show, but Tate made himself look like a self-centered a-hole throughout.

To be fair I obviously don't know the kid, and maybe that's not how he really is and just how the show wanted him to be pinned, but based on that show he'd be at the Ag Center with a shovel within a week.

I don’t want the kid. He has a shitty attitude and will cause issues when gatewood or mix beats him out.

He is a douche. However, Urban wanted him in his run first QB offense. Think Tebow at UF. Day swapped to a pass first O. Think Haskins this year. Internet rumors are suggesting he is being forced out. So this isn't completely on him.

Jalen Hurts is the priority right now. Even if we don’t land Hurts I don’t see us going after this kid because he’s an undergrad & will have to sit 2019 barring a waiver which is not a guarantee. The only QBs Auburn likely will be looking at the next few months during the transfer market will be grad transfers because the staff is likely only looking for a one year potential bridge gap QB. Plus I don't see Tate choosing to come to compete with such a heralded recruit like Bo who could be the starter at AU a full season before Tate may be eligible to play.
