Jaren Handy, report says he was in good spirits and fired up at practice so must be pleased with the change. He is listed as edge position now.
When we signed him he was 6 foot 5 and 278 pounds. He came in last year at 260, he is now at 242. Id think he has trimmed enough for the position, he keeps this up he may be a small DB by the time he graduates.
Seriously, he has shown some excellent signs of quickness. Losing the weight and moving to edge/buck may be just the ticket for this young man, I wish him luck, all of them.
And the weight put on by the defensive and OL are positive as well. Both lines my surprise us this fall, I hope so.

Anyone notice how small Davis' hands appear to be?
Not unless he is standing next to Sean White. That is who all QB’s are measured against.

I do now....

Sean White is a giant compared to Davis. Even had to say Bo was 6’3” just to make it appear that Davis isn’t so short. Just kidding of course but dude is short for an SEC QB

I am not keeping up with it like you guys, but I just don't see Davis beating out Nix. They are on more equal footing than if Gus was still HC, but still, I don't see it.
In all honesty, I doubt Harsin/Bobo are too satisfied with the QB room in general. They didn't recruit any of them and none of them really fit the pocket passer QB model. But still, Bo has the best chance of anyone to go into that role because of his experience.
If Davis starts, I will be utterly shocked.

Handy said he was up to 242 from 234. I think he came in light or something happened. I don't know. It's weird situation. He looks good playing at that weigh though and I think he will shine this year.

I like that War Rapport podcast a lot, but those guys are just fans. Most message board people are just fans. There has been no REAL talk about Davis starting over Nix, and really...how could there be? He's barely even practiced with the team so how the hell could that even be an opinion that is anything but just wild speculation based off of nothing concrete?
Of course there is no real talk coming from within the program..we are on our 3rd practice. It is fans speculating and wishing as you said, but there is plenty of it out there. I have seen it on every podcast they have done. I have seen people on AUF talk about it.
So maybe the Gent asking for proof is under the assumption that it was from insiders or people around the program...then no. I have not seen that...but if you want to see fans (D Davis Thruthers) they are not hard to find.

If you look at all the practice videos — accuracy, footwork, movement, throwing motion, size — this looks like the order.
1. Nix
2. Lindsey/Garnett
3. Davis
Granted it’s VERY limited data.

And isn't Loy injured, so isn't participation? He would be #2 if he was, with his experience and ability.

Yes, insiders and people close to the program. Fans hyping up a player does nothing to pique my interest after Frazier and JJ. I barely give a shite what an "insider" has to say as well since they don't really exist in Auburn's case.
Oh, and thank you

I've seen talk too. It's true that there is a small segment of the fanbase that has mentioned Davis pushing Nix. It's also true that this is the same segment that brought us the Dread Pirate Caudle over Cam, Kiehl over Trotter, Mosely over air, JJ over the Wizard, JJ over snow board Cam, Malik the Freak over Stidham and of course most recently Joey Heisman over Nix. The only years i think we didn't have some discussion is the year that never happened and JJ's So year. For full disclosure I may have been involved in one or 2 of them. #I<3KIehl

The backup is always the most popular player on the team.
Also, I still have no qualms about starting the Clint Moseley hype 10 years ago.
After all, as I told an LSU fan before that game, "Clint Moseley is the white Cam Newton"

For the Davis truthers
