Nick Fairley was originally a OL recruit.
This is true. Worked out pretty well for him.
Brandon Moseley was a TE recruit, and he swapped to RT. Got drafted.

I’ve said since his recruitment that Pegues will end up being an interior DL, and should be. His size and quick feet could make him a lot of money one day as an NFL DL.
It sounds as if he was willing to make the move too, shows he’s a good teammate. It’s a much better fit than running the wildcat like he was doing with our previous staff.

All rhetoric aside. You are a new coach, take a look at Brandon Frazier and JJ side by side.....who would you put at TE and who on the DL.

Dude is every bit of 300 pounds.
What an amazing specimen: shows up at 308 pounds, loses weight "with ease" (which isn't reported for some reason), then a ~week after transitioning to DT he magically gains all that weight he supposedly lost back to get back to ~300 pounds.

300 pound DL playing TE with most of his impact being water cooler commentary at work about how nimble he is.
UCF to be wearing their Twitter handles on the back of the jerseys this fall.
Malzahn is gimmick kind of coach and he’s perfect for UCF. He basically called Auburn alumni ouldes.

This is literally what it was. Every time he came into the game: "here comes JJ Pegues...who is 300 pounds!"
The commentary around his actual play was entirely based on his unorthodox size, and not at all relating to his actual production. If the only thing you can draw about a player is "he's 300 pounds and athletic", then you're reaching into the realgm of novelty. Which is exactly what he was on offense.
And here's the thing: he WAS a devastating blocker at times, as you would expect with his size and athleticism. But let's look at this from a sense of utility: what is more valuable? A 300-pound blocking TE/HB who comes in on obvious running downs, or a potentially elite DT? Anyone with any common sense knows where the maximum impact between those two potential outcomes is. Except Gus Malzahn of course, who's entire philosophy is based off of novelties. The JJ Pegues at Wildcat QB thing was the perfect manifestation: looks "cool", but in reality it doesn't do shite in real football output.

Did you catch the article about Chizik saying the AU job can be smothering and that Gus said that UCF allows him to be himself? I’m thinking oh boo hoo I’m getting paid 7 figures and my job demands results. Bitch arse

I know for a fact Gus had free reign to implement his vision. So outside of Greene demanding accountability, I am not sure what Chiz is talking about. You can't have players kidnapping people (Chiz) and have JSU take you to overtime and not have your boss ask WFT are you doing.

JT33 is missing. I’m waiting on him to challenge that picture.

Hypocritically there is also evidence put out by Phillip Marshall and others that show Malzahn to be smothering to his ACs.
I’m glad Malzahn is at a place like UCF where he can utilize his full imagination of 4 QB rotations, whirleybirds, and crouching Tigers, because UCF not only needs that to work, but they need the attention that comes with the gimmicks. It basically worked itself out.

Just because you didn't see the weight loss reported anywhere doesn't mean that it wasn't. Nathan King talked about it in a few threads on 247. The switch to DT was in the works for about a month before it was announced yesterday (also reported on, but I'm sure you missed that as well). Also didn't show up at 308 lbs.. literally everything you said is stuff that you made up. I would say quit while you're ahead, but clearly you're already far behind.

I saw that, he said that the median alumni age was 35 on Twitter, while all those big universities it was 65 and using Facebook. So that's why the Twitter handles were on their Jerseys, skirting the rules he said.
To me all that says is their isn't going to be huge donations for his buyout in two years.

Are we still practicing? Wonder how Harsin is adjusting to the heat/humidity.

They should ask him now and compare his answer to August when we’re in “fall” camp
