It may be more appropriate to meet at Sonic before meeting at JHS
If its for a game, we should make sure it's gonna be a win. From my perspective, the computer screen is usually the only thing separating a fight or 2 in a game thread, especially when we lose

I have done ancient comparative flood stories studies for years.

I have taught history for 30 years and have presented lessons on the archeological evidence supporting the Biblical account of the flood.

There is no doubt. In my finding every civilization has a global flood story.
They also has the human anti- trinity story as well from the Biblical name of Nimrod, Semiramis, and Tammuz.
Look at every an ancient civilization there is a present God, wife, and son. No offense to Catholics but the “Mary and Jesus” statues with sun disks behind their heads aren’t Mary and Jesus they are Pagan symbols of Semiramis and Baby Tammuz.

Ever watched the channel Answers in Genesis. I think that’s the name of it. The moderator/narrator is an Auburn grad.

My dad uses Answers in Genesis to help prepare Sunday School lessons. It helped to answer some questions I had when doing my own study as well. The flood is a topic that frequently comes to my mind as the Scriptures tell us that the last days will be similar to the time of Noah. The story of Noah and the flood is my favorite Bible story. I have always been fascinated with how he got thousands of animals on the ark when it takes 3 of my family members to get 1 cat in a carrier to go to the vet and somebody is always bleeding by the time we get the job done.

Pre flood earth was definitely a different type of world we live in post flood. Animals talked or appeared to be that way or there was some way of communication between species.
Explaining the unexplainable has always been deemed to be the mysteries of God/Jesus.
Gen 6 definitely takes some intense studying to understand why the flood and how it affects spiritual warfare and end times as well.

I agree with you there. My Sunday School class recently did a rather in depth study of the book of Jude which refers to pre-flood times. About half of the class had never heard of the Nephilim which surprised me. The discussion inspired me to go back and read the Book of Enoch again.

I don’t go in for the literal timelines of the Old Testament. I think by the time of the flood an advanced civilization had grown and Noah either had some super advanced water vessel or maybe even an orbital ship and it wasn’t literally animals, but DNA samples of every animal and they were brought back artificially when the flood was over.
That’s just my crazy mind though.
I also think Sodom and Gomorrah got nuked.

Check out the book of Jasher as well. It’s overlooked and has some interesting things in it and is referenced in the Bible giving it some authority if not in the biblical canon

I’m not saying your premise is wrong. Obviously there was some ancient advanced technology. Probably destroyed in the flood. And yes I think because of the flood carbon dating is very flawed but can agree maybe I am biased because I have a young earth view but either way neither stance going earth or old earth affects salvation.
But back to the quoted. They have found sulfur balls the sizes of tennis balls and golf balls that didn’t burn up. These cities were sister cities in very close proximity to each other so by God’s hand probably sky debris was used that had a base of sulfur.

That’s very plausible too I think. Remember arguing with an atheist and they said, yeah, those places were hit by a meteor or comet or something so it wasn’t punishment from God, it was an……….

Nothing exploded and created everything vs intelligent design.
The odds of evolution are about the same as a F5 tornado going through a garbage dump and creating a fully functioning 747 plane as the tornado goes through.

The scientists that are all hard core atheists and then believe we could be living in a simulation make me really laugh. And a lot of them don’t get it, why it’s funny.
There’s a chance it might create a functioning Dollar General

You can’t lean into the argument from improbability. It’s an automatic loss on base logic.
