yea, I may not know some of yall young ways but I am not a boomer, even though that was the best generation of any of our lives. I try to stay as "young" as possible without the blue hair, tattoos, white claws and lazy attitude.

Lanier, your IM threads suck.

I certainly agree with that.

You would probably be surprised. I bet we do. We just handle ourselves differently

Aliens, watchers, nephilim, the mighty men, who were of old, the men of renown now as greys, those from the fallen who mated freely and often with humanly women.

And not merely short disk Asians.

A good one is the Book of Enoch along with the Garmia Gospels.

The Ethiopian's had a copy in Ge'ez and from what I've garnered it's the real deal... although I've just over-viewed Enoch and more interested in their Gospels. It's a great find and pretty startling to find such a long lost book. And there's still an untold number of volumes not translated.

They're being touted as being on par with the Dead Sea scrolls... as being some of the oldest known copies of biblical text.

nope

edit: been a while - did a deep dive into flood narratives once upon a time - but I've not placed him in the bible

You should definitely watch some Dr. Ken Johnson’s studies on the Dead Sea scrolls and Essenes. He does a live each Monday night

You ever looked into Dr. James Tabor.

He's yet another good source for both the Essenes and dead sea scrolls. Will give Doc Johnson a look; however at the moment I'm in the midst of Ancient Christianities with Dr. Paula Fredriksen... but just subscribed him on YouTube.

eta: And I'm thinking a few are still untranslated.... with some of the scrolls having been written over older texts and the overwritten texts are also being recovered.

Here's to better days Jason. Life is a roller coaster as you know, good things will come back around.

Not sure if you heard or not but Chris Briden.... wife passed away a few weeks ago.

Damn bro I hadn’t heard that. I hate that for him but she had been pretty sick for a few years now if I’m remembering correctly. I love Chris. All you guys.

I think you have the right idea on this. After going through what you are right now you've probably gotta figure out who you even want to be going forward, much less what you want in a relationship.

But, as someone who just got married for the first time at 50 this past summer (after being together/engaged for a little over 5 years), it's definitely doable even where we are at once you get in the right place, or even want it.

I have a buddy I work with around your same age (like a couple years older) who went through almost the same thing you are at around 50. Blindsided by a divorce, moving into the apartment, kids just out of high school. He had a hard time for a bit and hit the whiskey pretty hard for a year, but then he got it together and got back into the dating scene and found himself a great wife he's been married to for about 5 years now. He's found renewed faith at his church (in his case Greek Orthodox) and things are going really good for him. Sometimes life isn't a straight path.

Obviously relationships with a decent woman at your age are almost always going to involve some step kids, but you are clearly no stranger to that and at least your kids are almost all out of college, which makes it easier.

have always been religious. I suck at being a great Christian representation but I am constantly studying.

I think we all struggle with that representation part at times. And particularly online like this where people are slinging opinions around and egos are involved. Too often we let our mouths run away from us (or fingers typing I should say).

Anyway, I know we don't always see eye to eye on here with sports discussions, but I'm sorry you are having to deal with this. I really hope things settle down for you and you can get back on a smooth path, and you can focus on the little things that give you joy right now. At least you seem to have a strong relationship with your kids to lean on.

I’m emotionally a pretty strong person but can definitely say this has thrown me for a loop.

My faith is strong. I’ve never been a drinker so no worries there. I don’t do drugs so same.

The divorce is definitely for the best. I won’t get on here and trash her because none of us are perfect. Plus no one wants to hear that crap.

I do appreciate all the thoughts and understanding. Yep I’m a prick. My personality is you either love me or hate me there is no in between. Most do like me but some can’t stand me. I’m by nature a protagonist socially. Being an ENJT personality type. I accept me as me. Sure I could be more chill and probably have over the past 4-5 years but inside I’m still that way. Like I guess in my mind it will always be the thought of “when I grow up I’m gonna do…”
