At the end of the day, we continue to rate near the bottom of the SEC in OL. We’re in the bottom 2 or 3 …. for the 5th season in a row.
And with our NIL budget it is ridiculous that the substandard OL play is continuing against average competition. It is impossible that our staff didn’t know the critical importance of adequately addressing this problem in 2026.

If tweet fails to load, click here. This is one of those punches I kept talking about landing our OL straight on their arse.

stiff arm jabs all night long

That’s a typo, right? Because it’s absurd.
All I;m saying is, Byrum Brown has a unique skill set, but Golesh is trying to make him a pocket passer. Nick Marshall was used correctly by Malzahn. Neither one was, or will be an NFL QB.

There is no way BB is faster than Nick Marshall. No way.

Byrum is stronger but runs more like Jeremy Johnson

Runs like he has a broken leg.

Mainly because the run blocking grades are very poor for the OL. Cant really do bully ball with our OL.

1980- Superman 2 - Zod floating in space - Trapped inside of a two-dimensional rotating prison wall of his own decisions, drifting in limbo through the universe without any direction.. no hope.. no QB or defense to win at night….… at home.and at night.
= Auburn fans rn. That’s me one min and the next I wanna give time to another coach that probably won’t be able to overcome the bad choices AU has made to get us here. Are we really gonna all make it?

quote:That's the buety of that scheme. Negates bully ball blocking and makes the defender make a choice. A magician like Marshall made a lot of high end OLB and DEs look like fools. Instead, we are running right into the teeth of a defense all the while sport sub-par OL performance.

The only way Golesh's current office has success with his running game is to replace a 3rd of the OL with better players, or go get another Bo Jackson. Meanwhile, we are getting pushed around, and a QB with a one step drop and he holds the ball.

Who put together Chizik's O-line?

Too bad we aint got a Willie Andrews hanging around teaching all kinds of OL how to pass block.

Hugh Nall and tuberville built the 2010 OL

No, that's the weakness of trying to scheme around the problem. When we had substitution advantages and could just run an opposing defense into exhaustion by the second quarter, it worked. It hasn't worked since and I highly doubt it will work this time. The level of ability is just too high in the SEC.

Whatever ... everyone knows the O line ain't the greatest.
The clip is stupid. It is 3rd and goal from the 15. It's bound to happen when they can just tee off.
Let's see the clip from 2nd down, where the play call resulted in a huge nothing and Brown could have thrown it away. Needed to gain positive yards on second down (or not negative). Shoulda had something better, even it means just forcing running the ball. Yeah we didn't get anything on 1st down running the ball, but that happens also.

To break the cycle Auburn is going to have to way overpay for lineman! Left tackle is going to have to be the highest paid person on the team! Many on here don’t remember what a good coach or team was. They think Gus was a coaching god! He single handedly led us to offensive line disaster! No QB or specialist is going to get us out of this.

Our big uglies are getting cast aside at will and it doesn't look even look like the opponent struggled to do it.
I have never seen this before at Auburn.
