He could end all speculation by saying frick it, I am going to enroll here, stop bugging me, my recruitment is over but that will be la la land. One can dream though…

Deuce is officially in Auburn today FYI
Seeing more of Peyton's Place could only help reinforce our enormous need; if only he didn't have to see the dismal line and play calling that frames this year's fiasco.

Because this might take more than money.

Well the coaching on the field doesn’t really excite a QB. He’s probably wondering how in the hell Walker White wasn’t playing this year
How many times does it have to be said. White's parent would only sign with Auburn if Freeze agreed to RS him.

Deuce was allegedly recruiting 2026 kids today. Have a friend who came with some of his HS players.

To a certain extent I get all the hype about five star Deuce Knight, but….
- What impact has five star QB Walker White had on this year’s team?
- How often has a HS QB come in to an SEC team and fixed offensive problems like we have?

If CHF places his hopes on Deuce Knight as our QB next year then I would say it is better than a 90% chance it will be his last year at Auburn.

I don't think even the biggest homers are expecting deuce to be the guy next year. We are all in with portal or bust

Why not White next year? How many years is he going to be at Auburn before he gets developed? If his parents wanted him to redshirt this year, Hugh needed to honor that. Which it looks like he did. But are they also not wanting him to play next year? It would be his second year in the system and he should be more prepared than Deuce. If we go to the portal, and Deuce is the next guy, what is that saying to White?

It's not the coaches job to give Mr and Mrs White what they want. Year 3 we have to win and we have to get the guy that gives us the very best chance of doing that. I also don't think it's some automatic assumption that deuce would take over after next year. From everything i read on here he is a high ceiling low floor guy who could easily bust

I've been saying this. No reason he can't be developed in time after redshirting a year

Working out pretty good for Tennessee.

Nico was also the #2 player in the country, only behind Arch. He came into Tennessee much more polished than Walker.

We should not be putting all our eggs in the basket of any of the current QBs on the roster.

Correct! It is not 1970. A QB should not need two three years to get there. If they are not ready sometime in Freshman year, then they aren’t a QB you can win a championship with.

Let’s all get our expectations in order. Do you want a QB that can win a Natty, or one that might get you to a bowl game after they develop for two years. It ain’t 1970. If they don’t show they can play first year, move on.

I agree. I want a competent QB that can win NOW. We have sucked at QB long enough now.

It’s a new day. If your QB is not ready Freshman year, they are not capable of leading you to a championship. Unless you are a Georgia, Bama, Ohio St that is loaded with 5 Stars.

And sometimes that is not good enough.

It's a new day but it's all in the portal and transfers. You grab 5* HS kids and if they miss you grab the best in the portal. Freeze wants to build a team from HS kids while coaches like Kiffin and Prime are building their teams on backups from the portal and just mixing in HS school kids that can play right way or only if they lack in spots.

Yes it is if that's what it takes to get him in our uniform! If a coach makes a promise, breaks it, he loses the trust of the player. At best, you lose that player to transfer. At worst, you miss out on other coveted recruits because you don't keep your words.

You, me, and every other fan of every other college team in the USA.

The biggest "get" for Freeze probably isn't a particular stud player. It's an extremely competent QB coach. I have no idea what is going on behind the scenes, but if I'm Freeze, I'm scouring the country for the next "Gorgeous Borges". What he did with Jason Campbell was nothing short of miraculous.

What happened to the "Look what he did with Malik Willis" people? Are they still here. I thought one of Hughs big pluses was he was a QB whisperer. l

Throne is worse than he was when he arrived

Is our 5* recruit, Walker White going to be ready next year? It will be his second year in the system. Im pulling for this scenario. Tired of 1 or 2 year guys. Maybe Hugh can make Walker a 3 year guy for us finally

Or does he finally get a one year portal guy and we delay that another year. Meaning bring up one of our recruits. Deuce or White? Hell, does White men stay if we bring in a portal guy.

Having his best year this year by pretty much every metric.

I can’t imagine a true freshman transferring because you bring in a one year transfer to compete with him for his redshirt freshman year.
