This is the first year Freeze has ever handed over the reigns to his offense. I contend that one of the main reasons Auburn hired Freeze was because his offenses were potent against SEC defenses. If he isnt calling the plays and we start to lose, will he take over the play calling and do you think he should take over before SEC play begins?

IF he hired Montgomery to call plays, then let him do the job.

I like a CEO head coach. Worth in on critical decisions- going for it on 4th down, end of half, various situations.

Execution was the issue Saturday. Especially turnovers.

He needs to find a QB who can read the field.

I rewatched the Cal game. We had open receivers on most plays. Thorne couldn't find them. Hopefully he improves on that.

I was at the game and saw it first hand. The amount of times he had an open receiver deep and elected not to throw it was baffling to me. I assumed he was just scared.

No. Montgomery is good with me. It's not like he is some GA back there. He was a FBS HC for years.

And it's not like Freeze has no input. He is at practice and in meetings daily.

If we shite the offensive side of the bed in a couple of SEC games, the decision will be automatically made. Don’t think Freeze will suffer any fools for too long, he really wants to succeed. It was quite evident in his demeanor on the sidelines last Sat… compared to supposed drag racer Harsin who used to just stand there like a llama with one single expression on his face the whole game.

I expect threads like this from Scoper, not Chexmix.

Seriously? Why are you surprised? In two weeks, he will then be criticizing Freeze for micromanaging. Wash/rinse/repeat

Some of the posters here are the poster children for "you cant have it both ways"

The play calling has had some hiccups but its not the problem with the offense. Anyone can see it if you are just willing to accept it

No assuming to it. Throne looked scared to death before the first play.

The board can have a conversation but come on Chex it’s game 3 of a new staff and players that need time to gel. Gus came in with players that he had recruited before he left in 2011, that’s why he was initially successful. Patience is a virtue we all need to relearn.

He definitely could use some of Marshall’s pregame ritual…
