Scarbinsky nails it

No, it's not the end if the world, Gus, but it's the end of your coaching career at Auburn...

quote:

"Auburn can't win in a truly hostile and intimidating SEC environment against its traditional annual rivals. Malzahn is 0 for 7 in Baton Rouge, Athens and Tuscaloosa.

Auburn can no longer beat teams with comparable or better talent. Malzahn is 2-3 against LSU, losing two of the last three. He's 1-3 against Georgia and 1-3 against Alabama, losing the last three to each. He's 0-2 against Clemson and 0-3 in bowl games against Power-5 opponents Florida State, Wisconsin and Oklahoma."

Gus will be at Auburn next year. Might as well get used to it.

I'm numb and done.

It's not the end of the world, and I'm not going to melt. However, I will have zero expectations going forward because that's what will maintain sanity as along of sweatervest is patrolling the sidelines.

Curious question: how many people leave the program this year?

I hate Scarb but he's had this program nailed for a few years now...

Gus’s comment to the reporter at the half and his comment about it not being the end of the world, we’re the nail in the coffin for me. I want a coach with a killer instinct! I want a coach that understands that this DOES matter,... that the game is actually 4 quarters, that’s not “happy” with where they’re at any time during the game until it’s over. His “ho hum, well shucks” attitude is not my style and not who I want coaching my team. We can do better

Hate to admit it. But that is hard to argue with, he's right.

Gus has no killer instinct as evidenced by his celebrating after our 2nd half collapse against Ole Miss. Saban would have been furious. Gus was cheerleading.

And that’s a problem. He should have approached that game yesterday, like it was 0-0, and went for the kill, and put them away. Instead, he says, “we’re happy, we’ve got a lead, we’re gonna sit on the ball and eat the clock”... WTF? No coach who is a winner should have that mentality

Especially when blowing out a traditional SEC power in their house is a great recruiting tool.

Yep. Felt like that "Oh well" attitude was rubbing off onto some of the players after watching their interviews afte the game. You know who goes absolutely balistic and/or looks like they want to commit honor suicide after they lose a game? Mark Dantonio, Urban Meyer, Nick Saban, Jimbo...

Neither does Stidham. That dude should have taken over this game. By 3rd quarter he was looking at one receiver only and praying for completions. LSU went man coverage and dared him to beat them. he pussied out.

Play calling sucked arse, but I think thats a reflection on Jarrett.

Stidham has NFL potential, and it's obvious with some of his ball placement on plays the defense know is coming.

The offensive system is the problem.

I should have been alarmed last season where we saw little if any second half production against MSU. That carried over into this year against MSU and Ole Miss.

A great coach would be furious at himself and his team for quitting at halftime, yet Gus is so content with it. It's absolutely sickening, and we have lost game after game with his mentality. He's a pussy with no killer instinct.

Interesting way to put it. Take two groups of players with equal talent, Gus will lose.

That Boise St coach in his prime could get his 70th best recruiting class to beat top 5 recruiting classes.
