DOn't buy this for a second. The board had just approved Bobo's salary, so to me he was #1, and USC is just trying to save a little face, since he opted to go to another SEC school.

Anybody know the tie between Etheridge and Harsin or Mason (other than being a former AU player)?
Looks like he was GA at Penn State and Ga Tech (Ted Roof was DC at both stops).
Coached LBs & CBs at Western Carolina.
Worked one season at ULL as CB coach on Napier's staff.
Been at Houston the past two seasons under Holgerson as CB coach.

Seems like a good former player hire. At least he has cut his teeth at the G5 level under some good coaches.

Not as whelming as T-Rob tho. Love to see Harsin make another big dick hire or two. So far Mason is the only truly impressive hire he’s made.

T-Rob is an up and coming DC. I don’t see him stepping back into a position coach role. There’s like a G5 program out there willing to give him that DC role

Andy Avalos is getting the Boise State job. I'm assuming thats why Danielson backed out - the word was that he would be Avalos' DC at Boise.
