I'm trying to look at it like this, we don't know how these guys will work as a staff together, and it isn't done yet either. Could the coaches work together, one coach make up for one guy's weakness, and another guy another's and as a result their strengths all come to play? Harsin help Bobo in some aspect, TE coach help Friend develop, it will be about cohesiveness as a staff. We do know boosters aren't making the decisions on staff....that is something we have all wanted for years. These guys can recruit, we will get good players through recruiting and possibly the transfer portal (Wayna Morris please).
My point is we don't know how they will work and what the results will be, and I think it's refreshing compared to knowing exactly what Gus and company's results would be, 8-4 give or take depending on who we play at home and in the bowl game. New coach making all the calls and the staff being 100% his beats the shite out of having Gus and his staff that was handed to him. I wasn't happy with all the initial Boise coaches and off field staff, and got the shite beat out of me on here for saying it (rightfully so) but mixing them with who we've gotten so far I feel much better and when the staff is done I'm sure I will feel better than I do now. Embrace the unknown, can it really be worse than the OL play, game plans when we looked lost, and lose more rival road games than Gus did losing all of them?

I'm not going to sit here and pretend Bobo is an A+ hire with no faults though.
It is hard to argue when someone simply has a strong bias against them.
So who is an A+ hire with no faults that you think Auburn COULD have gotten?

How many A+ hires with no faults can anyone, even Saban get? It's about how all the moving parts work together

I know.. didn't mean that part to be directed towards you. Just a general statement about the board. I'm going dark though. Hope it works out
The entire board isn’t really that excited about it

Even the "everyone who coaches at Georgia recruits like that" comment is obviously absurd. If every coach on Georgia's staff had the recruiting list of Mike Bobo, their classes would be literally made up on 5-stars LMAO.

I just find it refreshing that our head coach is hiring guys who he feels will help his team, unlike Gus continually hiring guys from his high school days.
It started with him hiring HS guys but it ended with him hiring guys (mainly OC’s) that he could place blame on. The flip flopping on play calling duties is one of the main things I will not miss.

The bad guys wouldn't stand a chance.

I’m just curious what are the qualifications of a OC you can place blame on?
Can’t you do that with any coordinator you hire?

“As for the rest of the staff, keep an eye on Oregon WR coach and passing game coordinator Bryan McClendon along with former South Carolina defensive coordinator Travaris Robinson. McClendon has worked previously with Bobo and could be lured back to the southeast while Robinson is looking for a new gig and is rumored to be in talks with Auburn.
Per Auburn Undercover’s Phillip Marshall, Larry Porter is the only current Auburn assistant to have interviewed and has a very good chance of being retained as running backs coach and special teams coordinator. I think both Travis Williams and Al Pogue will have an opportunity as well. Marshall has also reported that Auburn has interest in Missouri DL coach Brick Haley.”
Twill and trob a possibility? Along with Danielson who is an ace recruiter? All under Derek Mason? Holy smokes

We can hope although I'd prefer caddy over porter

I would too, but with Porter you get someone you know can handle both RB and ST. However, those are maybe the two easiest coaching jobs so I’m sure Caddy could figure out how to coach ST too.

It just now clicked that Bobo and Harsin competed against each other at CSU and BSU.
Hope it turns out to be a good partnership.

Boise is 10-0 lifetime vs. CSU and Harsin is 6-0 vs. Bobo. If you can't beat'em, join'em.
