Do we truly know who's responsible for backing the 47,000,000 contract?

And more importantly was there, ever more than mere rumor, that they'd make good if poor performance ensued?

49 million, 75% guaranteed. Leath and Harbert. Then an additional two members of the board (compensation committee). The full board did not vote, which ruffled some feathers. Rules have since changed to require full board approval for contracts over a set amount.

Yes, it was pushed for by Leath. He had a single booster on the side of it. The rest of the BOT stayed quite (via vote) but some did express opposition behind the scenes. This is pretty well reported and sourced. There really isn't an argument.

Behind the scenes did the single booster say he'd cover it...I don't. I've never seen any credible reporting on it.

I understand your point but Joe Brady took an offense that had most of the same players last year and was mediocre and turned them into the best offense in college football. He deserves all of the accolades he is getting

Speaking of taking the shine off...we also had that happen in 2013 in Gus' first year, after a season of only 3 wins and NO wins in the SEC. He lost only 1 game and got us to the NCAA championship game.

Now 6 years later we are averaging 8 wins, playing in 1 SECC game, and never made it to the NCAA playoffs.

So i too will wait after that first year at LSU and Burrows is gone..

Some posters would never make it as fish.
Shiny! New! Looks good right now! BITE!!

Brady may well be a good OC but let's not crown him after one year. Keep in mind Burrow was a really good QB coming out of high school. He was the Ohio Football Player of the Year his senior year.

It's always seemed to have no merit, but for some reason often alluded to as being part of the original deal.
