It seem that we could get over the Gus hating. He is no longer our coach get over it.

He coached for his coaching life against UGA and Bama 2017, and got his highway robbery contract. Didn’t make it half way through it.

Most of the time he coached and acted like a disgruntled offensive coordinator. The NFL views are fair, and he should’ve never left a true running QB.

That’s a lot of truth in one post. I’ve said the same exact thing just in a far less eloquent way.

Stidham sux in the NFL because of Gus? That is hilarious. The dumbest thing I’ve ever heard. He’s been at NE longer than he was at AU. He’s only getting worse. He’s not improving. He will never play in the NFL. Not a knock on him, he’s just not good enough.

Say what you want about Gus, but his offensive plays have been copied by every league out there, including the NFL. A lot of people in the coaching industry are extremely jealous a ‘high school’ coach rose to his level so fast. It’s known he has lots of haters.

How many rules were changed because of Gus? Anyone keeping track? Proud he was at Auburn and was a great representative of our school.

Sure Fire NFL OL... Braden Smith. Nothing we could do was screwing that up. Played him out of position on top of that.

Sure Fire other players are any 247 player rated above a .9500 that doesn't have a severe career ending type injury, isn't a complete headcase, and puts in a normal work ethic.

plazadweller you better be careful the friends you keep. No one wants the truth they want someone to agree what they support.

I always find it funny to see people complain about an offense they don't even know what is happening on the field. Just watch the ball if we keep getting first downs cheer if we don't score get pissed. But for people to talk how stupid a coach is when they don't even understand the basics of he offense has never made sense to me. And I understand some people aren't X and Os guys.

LOL, so any surefire .9500 that didn't succeed in the NFL was a headcase or lazy?

no any that didn't get drafted probably had some issue I described above. Nothing about Pro success. College getting to the pros was what I was referring to. To make it in the pros at any position requires more then just skill and talent.

I will finish with this, there are highly probable's, but would never use surefire when talking about a college lineman or any position with a .9500 rating.

The fact you had to add except headcases and lack of work ethic linemen proves it. Surefire definition is certain outcome and success. Certain means definite. No wordsmith play just facts. Oh, and some don't pan out even if they worked hard and are level headed.

quote:

Between 2000 and 2014, for example, 522 high school prospects were identified, and 53 percent of these 5-star recruits eventually made it to the NFL

Not all 47% failed to make the NFL using your criteria. That's just 5 stars.

I won't just accept what you say, sorry

I don't have time tonight but I bet I can shatter that 47% number with the actual cases of why they didn't pan out. Either way this is a weird argument but I'll revisit it.

Anyway, can someone explain Raven Gray to me. Didn't we get to count him like for 3 recruiting classes as a 5 star.

I like how a guy talks about technical details, then you respond with conjecture and opinion.

The sad thing is, its not the dumbest thing that has been said about Gus on this board. Mustless ever

This entire discussion is hilarious.

I said that like a million times. Dude was not great at Baylor and that was against terrible defenses. You could see how bad he was coming in. He had a little Aaron Murray in him at times but for the most part, he was a Chris Todd clone. Dude was and never is going to be a NFL starter or significant player.

You cant say that baw. All you can talk about is that he didnt recruit offensive linemen. Tow the line or you will be shunned like Coach.

I swear some of the posters here wake up in the middle of the night screaming about Gus.
