1. Petrino - Most likely candidate. Would not be scared of saban. Would probably relish the opportunity to go H2H and beat saban's arse.

2. Patterson - Would rank him number 1 with Petrino, but I do not think he will seriously consider us this time around. Not with TCU in a major conference now and all the work he has done there since we last talked to him.

3. Fisher (Jimbo) - 3rd choice, do not think he is that great, but pretty good and a legit hire.

Would love Jeff Fisher or Peterson, but neither of those is happening so I don't see much point in ranking them on my list.

We miss on all of the above, Strong, but I would not be too thrilled.

Malzahn/Smart - do not want either. Not proven, too risky IMO.

Me sort of. I personally don't think Jeff Fisher is that realistic but since he's on all the coaching hot boards I decided to include him. I just meant not Harbaugh or anyone like that.

I asked this question on another board and did not get an answer but isnt Chris Peterson of Boise into Scientology?

If so, forget him ever sitting in a southern moms living room and getting them to like him

Wont happen.

5. Larry Fedora or Gus Malzahn (tie)

I don't think Jeff Fisher is realistic (in fact, I'm not sure if any of my top three are realistic).

I'd love to have patterson...but i believe it is unrealistic.

1.Petrino, then it's a huge drop off to the guys we can likley get.

Think we need to go with someone who's at least an HC already, even though Smart might work out in the long run. I also left out Stoops/Jeff Fisher because I think they were only possible if JJ was fired already. If I thought they were realistic options they would be at or near the top of my list.

What is so intriguing to you about Kirby Smart? Saban puppet head? The idea of even bringing in a Bama coordinator is beyond me.. especially one that has zero head coaching experience.
