How do we know what he's learned from Saban? He hasn't really proven that anywhere. By hiring someone that is under Saban's direction does that mean you are conceding the Alabama game every year?
Just curious
ETA: And regarding recruiting.. you think he can lure recruits away from the man that you say taught him everything he knows?

My first 3 would be the home-run hires.
Bohl is my top choice if we're looking for a Shula type hire to get us through 2-3 years.

quote:Yes. Smart has as many ties in GA as Saban does. Smart is actually just as responsible as Saban for alot of the GA recruits they've gotten

This is my problem with him. We would just get Bama's leftovers.

None of our other candidates have shown they can beat Saban either. Petrino wasn't successful against him, and Malzahn's offense was successful for 2 halves in 3 games against him. The rest of the time we were shut down

I agree with your list although I personally would put Peterson in top three.

Just for the sake of discussion, what you guy's opinion of Art Briles? I realize he is pretty content on staying at Baylor but what otherwise worries you about his coaching (if anything does)?
