Quintin has the blessing of yellawood and Harbert to work with Cohen to make the HC hire.
If Quintin signs off on the Cohen pick that coach will be hired if not then the coach won’t. ( actual alignment with checks and balance)
I expect things to really ramp up next week. We should have a coach the Monday after W.Ky but not announced until after the Iron bowl.

I trust a hard core Dye man like Q.

There will be a small committee Q will be the voice of the money folks. I trust his judgement.

This sounds FANTASTIC.
Thanks for the update, Corch

I know it sounds dumb but I’m good friends with a former player that played with Q. They are very tight like speak to each other on almost a daily basis. I got his permission to share. However I don’t think they are trying to keep it secret

If true, this is really, really good news. The two richest Auburn boosters giving Q the keys is a recipe for success.

This makes me wonder if they already have their man.
Remember when Bo led like this and they already had Gus?

I love #41 but:
“Coach Harsin impressed me with his detailed plan to lead Auburn to consistently compete for championships in the Southeastern Conference,” Greene remarked. “I’m grateful to Gen. Burgess, Quentin Riggins and each member of our advisory committee for their commitment to Auburn during this process. We look forward to welcoming Bryan, Kes and their children to the Plains to introduce them to the Auburn family.”
Stamp of approval for Harsin hire.
Plus, I believe it was the On3 guys on Sunday mentioned
he loves Grimes - from a past interview of Grimes.
Blind faith I do not have (if any of this is true).
Just not automatically excited by this, that is all.

Q was the mouth for the boosters last hire. Q is the rep for the booster this hire. Big difference.
I trust Q regardless of the choice. He knows coaches and Auburn better then anyone on this message board or any beat or national writers.

If anything, you’d want word to get out. “Alignment” is the buzzword for this hire.

Q is probable the best board member for the job. Smart guy.

Yes massive change since Roberts took over. fricker don’t play around. He’s methodically changing the culture from liassez faire to analytical on the university side and putting what should go in what bucket in the proper spots.
It appears he understands the athletic department is that a part of the university but a totally separate creature that can enhance the academic side. Instead of trying the other way around.

I’m also sure Q probably does like Grimes. Dude is a great guy. Probably will make a great coach at the right place. But I don’t k ow this but I expect we are not hiring a coordinator this go round. If he had been somewhere as a head coach for a couple years possibly so.

I'm a bit worried we don't already have an agreement with someone. I assume we've reached out to all the big names.

All I know is everyone made a big deal about how Q, Greene, and the general went off their own and saved the day and stopped Steele. I believe Q helped the general and Greene make the decision. You decide how much this matters.
If Quentin does have a heavy hand, it seems as if Grimes would be at least at a 50% chance (i'll go with more).
