Prayers up.

I know y'all are in the ATL area. Not sure who her doctors are, but it might not hurt to get an opinion from the folks at Emory/Winship.

My mom had surgery in 2012 for melanoma and again in 2014 for breast cancer, both at Winship. Both were successful and she is full of energy in her early 80s. All of her doctors there were amazing.

Hi guys, first thank you very much (bottom of my heart) for the well wishes and prayers. THEY MATTER.

We went to the oncologist today. definitely cancer. And definitely looking at a combo of chemo and radiation for about a month. We'll have some MRI/PET scans soon to determine if this is spread or local, then Chemo for 5 days through a portal drip, then 25 days of highly focused radiation. followed by more chemo at the end. If it all works, my wife is looking at 3-6 months of recuperation from this shite. We were told of the possibility of usual side effects including loss of hair, loss of appetite, nausea, weight loss, and with the radiation, a lot of pain similar to bad sunburn in the localized area, repeated daily. fricking not good.

My bride is the bravest person I know. She's approaching this like "I got this". so much respect. its really awe. Ive witnessed this woman give birth to 4 children.

Probably not going with the local docs here even in Atlanta. Most likely going to MD Anderson in Houston and not fricking around. We'll find the best damn docs on the planet and cure this shite. She's a warrior.

keep up the prayers and kind thoughts. Time to go to WAR on this cancer shite.

Brothers, thanks for being here. I havent put this on any other social media or even a lot of my family. Wifey is intensely private especially about this. but need some place "Auburn family" to say whats up.

Most likely going to MD Anderson in Houston

My mom has been in and out of MD Anderson for over a year. Great place to kick cancer's arse.

In fact, my mom is enroute via ambulance to MD from FL now. Finished radiation about a month ago, had surgery scheduled for next month and ran into a complication that the local Drs wanted her to get to MDA. Should arrive this evening.

Lot's of condos and stuff to rent around there, I can talk to my folks and get some recommendations it you need them Pav.

Probably going down there within next 10 days. There are some scans that can be done in ATL, but one the treatment starts, is going to be a month in Houston. Going to be a challenge to balance two kids here in ATL. Plus Covid makes it so I cant go to any appointments etc wth her.

Any recommendations on accommodations near the hospital area would be great. Doesnt have to be fancy.
