Agree with this …. he would present some matchup challenges more out of the slot than at wide out.

This is not remotely true. We aren’t top 5 in our own conference.

Texas
aTm
UF
Bama
UGA

All have more NIL. Add in teams such as Oregon, Ohio State, Michigan, Penn State.

Organizationally I think OTV does a good job with things surrounding NIL for their contracts but no we aren’t close to Top 5 in NIL. We are working on a $13m budget those teams above are at or over $20m.

Auburn is #9 in NIL, uat is #12.

LINK

Top 10 is still pretty damn good, but it definitely could be a lot better.

They are trying to correlate donations to NIL. Yes we have some big donors. They don’t all donate to get players they donate to get buildings.

Yellawood is our big donor and has been for years for sports but he also donates to get his influence in to academia as well. He funded the new culinary school building.

Like I said above we are working on a $13m talent budget across all sports. The teams I listed above are all $20m or above in talent budget.

Isn’t he a pure pocket passer?

There’s been more buzz about Moss. Has CHF had success with a pass-pro style before?

Read the article, Corch is right. The article actually ranks donations to the athletic department and just assumes that correlates to NIL, which I’m not sold on. Until the schools are the ones paying players, we will likely never know a true rankings of the NILs. They want that as under-wraps as possible.

Not really. Auburn’s top boosters are more well off than uat’s.

Freeze likes to throw and we need a QB who can hit our young WR’s.

Not sure I like AU being a pass first football team, or if it would work in the SEC, but whatever

That's what bugs me. No idea how much $ we have or need. No fan really knows. All speculative.

Not having a viable passing game has held Auburn back for years. You have to be able to pass the ball in the SEC. The defensive lines are too good to try and just line up and run the ball.

It's not 1974, Shug.

Florida dominated the SEC in the 90s as a pass first team.
Texas is a pass first team now.
LSU was in 2019
Alabama was pass first with Tua, Mac Jones & Bryce Young.

Football is a pass first game now. Has been for a while.

Believe it or not they were 50/50

In their title run season in 1996 they ran it 40 times a game to 37 passes.

Even 2019 LSU ran it 34 times a game to 37 passes.

Still got to run the ball.

Florida had Fred Taylor in 1996, of course they ran it too... But their QB won the Heisman.

We just had the 2nd leading rusher in the league... averaged 100 yds/g. And signing Alvin Henderson, possibly Kromah. We'll run it.
