Some of that is his fault

We just need to hope he isnt that careless if he plays with us.

I stand corrected, its his fault he did not instruct his OL to scream "Olay!!!" every time they let the thundering herd loose on him.

We had some real stupid fumbles by players like Rivaldo. RBs wise though Damari led our RBs in lost fumbles by losing both of his fumbles.

I just remember being incredibly frustrated with fumbles at the beginning of the year. And it wasn’t one guy. It was everyone.

That might have been compounded by the interceptions that were happening at the same time though.

He has to hold onto the ball. Ball security is ball security. Yes Thorne threw stupid picks but he was sacked 27 times and only offered up the ball twice, losing one of them.

Earlier in the year my frustrations were definitely compounded by the interceptions, and the fumbles, but also some weird shite going on. There were drives killed by going out of bounds too early, there were drives killed because of stupid penalties, our KR guy kept getting tackled deep near the goalline, our kicker was missing kicks. I felt our offense was moving way too well to keep finding ways to shoot ourselves in the foot. We once led the nation in lost turnovers iirc.

I responded to the board with statement that was true. That excuse was used ALOT last week. Whatever you read into it is on you.

Arnold's game log looks like real dog shite, but we have to remember our qbs have shite game logs when they have no wrs. Last year's top receiver for Auburn would have been 4th for this Auburn team.

You mean like Etienne for UGA, Jalen Hurts at OU a few years back, Joe Burrow at LSU, Quinn Ewers at Texas, .....we could go on for a while.

No, I mean like Peyton Throne, Jake Plummer, Emory Jones, Jeff Sims., TJ Finley , Robbie Ashford

I promise you , I can go longer than you at this

Diamonds are good but more dont work out than do and if the last 2 years in any indication, Hugh is not exactly been tuned in to a good transfer QB.

Hope he lands a diamond but more need them than are available

Thompson is planning to take more visits which never makes you comfortable in the portal, but I think he liked what he saw

Finding a QB starter through the Portal is inherently no different than recruiting and "developing" one through the HS ranks, except that Portal acquisitions are by default more likely to have a higher likelihood of success (not always, but most of the time by virtue of them having some sort of NCAA track record already).

You think that Payton Thorne is a failure, but you fail to realize that Payton Thorne was more successful than basically every HS QB that was signed by Auburn since god knows when. On paper, he was more successful than Bo Nix. Nix won more games, but this is also a team sport (and Nix was hounded and ridiculed at Auburn no different than Thorne was). And this is a VERY long list: Jeremy Johnson, Kiehl Frazier, Tyler Queen, Kodi Burns, Neil Caudle, etc, etc. Which one was a better NCAA QB than Thorne? None.

So Hugh's one Portal QB (Thorne) is already a a clear upgrade to 99% of the HS QB's we have signed since Jason Campbell.

I’m not pondering for either. All I’m saying is waiting until the last minute to get a starting quarterback and a starting running back is very risky. And that is basically what we’re doing right now. It’s 1130 and we need two dates not one.

I’m certainly not saying our high school recruiting has been great but we should’ve been developing someone like Walker White along the way. Instead of waiting until the last minute and trying to get lucky and pull a rabbit out of a hat again.

How are they waiting till the last minute? The Portal opened on Monday, and they have had one QB visit yesterday, and have another set to arrive today. By all indications it will be one of those two QB's, with Arnold seemingly being more likely at this point. The same thing applies to the RB as well: they had one visit yesterday, and a second is supposed to visit on Monday. I think they likely prefer the ULM kid, and are probably keeping the UConn kid (who visited yesterday) on the back-burner until they see if the ULM kid makes it without committing to Ole Miss over the weekend.
