HOOVER, Alabama (SEC Network) -- A quartet of 4-seed Vanderbilt pitchers combined for a two-hitter in a 6-1 win to end 12-seed Oklahoma's run in the SEC Tournament on Thursday night at the Hoover Met.

The Sooners had won two games earlier in the tournament to reach the quarterfinal, where the Commodores, who had earned a double-bye, were waiting to see their first tourney action.

JD Thompson started on the mound and set the table for Vandy. He went the first five innings, giving up the only two Oklahoma hits and the only run while walking just one and striking out 11.

Luke Guth, Levi Huesman and Sawyer Hawks then proceeded to close the game out without giving up another hit over the final four scoreless innings. Combined with Thompson's haul of Ks earlier, the four Vandy pitchers totaled 16 strikeouts on the night.
