This roster was ripe for pillaging. Losing season after losing season and now a coaching change. This was far more likely to happen than not. Will be fairer to judge Golesh after the portal officially opens.

Just imagine coming in as a coach a few weeks ago and trying to sell the program to these players who were totally screwed over the last five years. I'm shocked every one of them didn't leave that had the opportunity to go somewhere else or the skill

Yep if you look at this objectively, there’s no way anyone should be surprised by any of this.

I am too if we are being honest. We had a top 20 roster that couldn't even get bowl eligibility. I wouldn't blame any of the guys for wanting to leave but it is also now on the current coach to share a vision with them.

Losing Coleman absolutely sucks. Maybe he can come back after a last minute sponsorship for premium pressure treated wood?

We have had two coaching hires in a row implode. I hope we don't have a third one and am at least willing to wait until January to scream "fire that bum".

Golesh has nothing to sell them right now. That is the issue. Nothing to promise them. They were already promised things that didnt happen. Would YOU trust the next guy just saying the same thing?

I wouldnt

Maybe golesh is laying down the law to these guys and some just dont like it. He may be trying to run the program as their boss and not their best friend. It sucks to lose these guys but maybe the staff has a plan. Im sure this new staff won't be playing games the same way other coaches have.

Probably not.

Slowly leaking he wanted Deuce over Brown. Assuming this is true, I would rather have a known product at QB vs an unknown and a WR. Seems like Brown to AU will be announced soon.

Now what is Trinidad and 24 say.

We have 30 million and gonna let good players walk to bring in less talented for the same cost. This is a great way to build a roster

I really hope that is not true. No HC can let the players dictate other personell.

I just hope he leaves the conference.

Exactly.

Putting your name out there as a portaler may be a negotiating tactic. It may be a way to feel out your market value. Nothing is said and done until someone actually transfers to another school.

Maybe Coleman thinks he can leverage more money from AU by threatening to leave? It's all business now, baby.

What makes you think he left because we didnt offer him the amount he wanted?

I'm less worried about Cam Coleman as I am that our OL situation for next year is a complete toss up

Our OL sucked last year so not sure how big a deal losing everyone is, but hard to imagine we are going to end up in a great place

I'm hopeful that we'll get several good linemen in the portal, we're certainly in position to do so.

Getting Brown at QB with some good offensive linemen will give Golesh a chance to improve our offense a lot next season.

I agree. And I want Cam. However he isnt George Pickens. We need OL/DL and need to over pay right now for it. I would try and chat with Lew and Chaplin again with money free.

I want to keep our wide receivers, especially coleman. But this past year's office reminded me of this:

Another failed head coach and another horrible season incoming. AU football is now pre-Pavia Vanderbilt. Never thought I'd see the day AU fell this far for this long. This will be the third coach in a row who cannot get above .500 for even one season.

I would be for shutting the program down at this point. Just save the money to buy a basketball roster. AU has proven is can win at B-ball, but the days of fielding a decent football team seem to be over.

NIL has broken what we love. The Portal is broken

Contracts need to be installed like the NFL. Once you sign, you’re locked in for a few years.

Every player should have a base stipend based on position and Depth chart, and it can increase from week to week based on certain production.

I'll die on the hill that spending $ on OL/DL will win more games than spending on Cam Coleman

If it wasn't for fan base reactions/perception, I'd think the coaching staff would be at peace about freeing up Cam's money

Winning cures all.

But we are a long way from that. Fans want some kind of win now, so I guess that would be portal wins.

I do not believe we have Brown until he shows up, but if we don't get him...

Maybe he dropped the check. It baffled me how he could make OBJ catches and then had Sammy Coates sure catch drops.

If you take the perception out of it.. he can be replaced. Look at when Tre Donaldson left.

I just don’t want him to go to within the SEC
