We have gone from hiring freeze and caring about getting players on campus to hiring golesh and losing all the players we recruited for two years.
You were told this was gonna happen. And its happening.
And it will happen again. It is the state of the new world

All these dudes may have left had we kept Freeze too. The program has just been abysmal for years now.

Yea it seems like you’re right, the next few years are not gonna be pretty in my eyes. Fans have been to faithful to Auburn for what’s happening right now though which is why I feel like you can only be faithful to something that’s going south for so long. People will always love Auburn but as far as giving hard earned money to it for the current product…. We’re at the point where there is no way to replace the outgoing talent now. Cam is elite. There isn’t another cam in the portal. We’re actively losing and I wonder how long until Auburn(powers that be) steps in and does something.

I’m honestly still not worried. I hate to lose Coleman’s talent but we don’t need a 2-3 million dollar receiver when we have so many holes to fill.
I’m going to wait to see what golesh puts on the field and how they play before saying much on him. Freeze put a pretty roster on the field an still dropped losing seasons.

quote:I don't disagree, but the whole time we have been hearing about the staff feeling good about keeping him. Tom Loy said yesterday the staff felt confident about keeping him... so clearly the coaches don't have a clue whats going on.
He has already wasted some of his career here playing for a loser. He was promised a lot, got nothing as far as a winning program. And please dont give me the money shite. Dude is going to get the same if not more money almost any other team he goes to. Why the hell would he stay here?
I had a feeling with things staying so quite that this is where it was headed. A few others too. Stay quiet and get as close to the portal opening as possible before they enter, so they don't have to deal with the staff trying to keep them.

That is the truth. We have been in the desert for quite awhile. I think our last competitive team was what, 2017?
And I got so sick of hearing, we are "close" this past year.
Golesh may crash and burn but I am still so glad we got rid of the lazy peice of crap Freeze.

Wrong. Golesh started here by saying roster retention was number 1. He has failed that.

I'll just try to ignore it until after Friday. No point in getting frustrated over guesses.

Does something-like what? Fire the AD?

Personally, I think Cam and Lew are our only elite ball players. Guys that could start anywhere and/or play in the NFL. Simmons, Lee, etc will play situational at Arkansas, etc. It is just the whole picture so for for me. It is looking like we are going to bring in G5 players and that will be a disaster. Hopefully I am wrong and we will see what happens on Jan 2nd.

Freeze needed to go. It just looks like, so far, the replacement also needs to go too.

Honeslty, that is probably the right call. I just don't want to melt now and then have to remelt in a week

This roster was ripe for pillaging. Losing season after losing season and now a coaching change. This was far more likely to happen than not. Will be fairer to judge Golesh after the portal officially opens.

What the hell is going on with this staff? Damn
Apparently, everybody is floored. They all but announced he was re-signed on the boards. fricking lame.

Yes. We’re declining in basketball and football has been a shite show for years. Personally I don’t think the AD has been there long enough for bball to be on him completely but this hire lands squarely at his feet and if Golesh sucks Auburn dry andfor a third time straight we lose on a coaching change, their maybe needs to be some oversight on this gross over spending on this incompetence.

At the end of the day, he's only a receiver. Our passing game will be better next season with or without Coleman.
And if he does leave, that'll be a few more million that we can use for offensive/defensive linemen in the portal.
