Don't worry about it man.... they're the blueprint lol. I'm like can we wait for them to actually win the championship, (AND) make a solid run for a few years before calling them the "Standard" of anything?

We also have 105 schollys now instead of the previous 85 right? Another 20 spots evenly distributed across positions would lead to another 1-2 WRs by default. So there's more space to fill in than there used to be.

mere speculation.
It’s almost like you guys think Tennessee runs an entirely different offense… They do not.
That is the reason. Not a guess. Well that and every receiver has a very real chance to be thrown to on every play. And they have 2-3 options on the routes depending on the defense. They “run” the routes like our previous receivers would “run” their routes when they expected the ball thrown to them.

With the history of poor production that AU has had regarding WRs over the last 20 years, stack the WRs up and let the chips fall where they may. Not like there is some proven WRU system being upended here

Except they’ll now be running every play as if the ball was coming their way. And not just when they expect it may be on the way. Laziness and taking plays off may no longer earn you dollars … at least come next year.

Let’s look at Tennessees roster.
2025 16 WR 6 TE
2024 19 WR 7 TE
2023 16 WR 9 TE
2022 13 WR 5 TE
2021 17 WR 7 TE
That is the entire WR/TE roster breakdown for Tennessee since Heupel took over.
I could be wrong, I’ve definitely been wrong before…. But… I don’t know… it almost sounds like Golesh knows what he is doing

Indiana narrative is going to justify a lot of weak roster management going forward.
If I wanted to criticize the current staff, I was disappointed that they hadn't fully tampered and there weren't 25 portal guys signing with us the first weekend. We had the time and plenty of connections (think Bank's knowledge of all the Tennessee defensive players) to have stuff set up and ready to go. Assuming we were going to find everything we need on the open market seems unlikely.
I was also concerned that the staff just wouldn't be good at securing the guys they identify. Whatever you want to say about Freeze, he and Redmond eventually figured this out, and our new General manager has never portalled in the big leagues. I don't know that these fears have been alleviated, but signing The OT from Mich St is a good sign that they can get it done.
The clear positives are that:
There are a lot of visitors going in and out of the athletic complex, even more than we are made aware of.
The On3 recruiting guys seem very confident that we will get to 90 or 95 scholarship players.
Golesh appears to be well respected by his players such that most of the good ones followed him to Auburn.
JLee has clearly been converted by the new staff, as he is very vocal about how much he likes them (I think Golesh came out and just hung with the beat writers and made them feel welcomed... smart move).
Paying what we did for Byrum is a sign of a "win now" mentality.
The staff is quality and it speaks highly of Golesh that he was willing to bring in alpha coaches, and they they agreed to work for him.
The verdict will be out for a while on whether the staff can scout and develop talent, so there is no point in getting excited or upset about that now. If they get the roster to 95, and they appear to get the guys they target, then there won't be much to complain about. I guess we could also evaluate from a distance whether or not enough targeted players were sure fire impact contributors. As much as I hate what the portal has done to recruiting, there is a perverse joy in watching a new staff build a team almost from scratch.

The UT thing...
I mean, Heupel is 11-14 against top 25 competition, most of those wins coming in one season. It's much better than what we've put up, but I'm not getting all excited that we're selling out for a glut of P5 receivers and TEs.

I think the point was Golesh runs Heupel’s system so it shouldn’t be surprising that we’re recruiting to have similar numbers position wise.

You should look up who was the OC at UT for 2 of those years, including the 6-1 vs top 25 season.

On K. Singleton, somebody on reddit late last night posted a screenshot of Singletons IG story and it showed him being at Botanic in Opelika.

Place is fantastic. Great place for the families to be taken to when they are here on Officials.
