Best case scenario: 5 players
Most likely:1-3
Worst case scenario: 0

Not a good look so far. I’m just hoping they know something we all don’t and hopefully that is the case

My grandson is a high school sophomore OT (rising Junior) and got his first and so far only offer from Ouachita Baptist, so yes I love that.

Offensive line has been an critical since about 2018 or so.

Some players develop beyond high school. Kevin Green was not a highly recruited football player, and he made it to the hall of fame.

Offensive line is a hard to project a 18 year old hs kid to a 23 year old senior.

Maybe the kid was new to the game in hs and has developed further.

I’m hopeful about the reset with Golesh.

I have been a Golesh supporter all along. Just because he offers s small school kid doesn't mean he's found a hidden gem though

And it does not mean he hasn’t.

It sounds like other P4 programs have offered. They too are either right or wrong.

The odds of being wrong about offensive line recruits are always high.

How many times in a HS career does a “5 star” line up against equal competition at the line of scrimmage?

Charlie Chaplin and his 12 false starts did not help us and he was the best available. Bowler hat, spinning umbrella be damned, I’ll take my chances with the small school kid developing.

somebody doesn't watch the NFL. It is littered with G5 players.

Less than 2% of college players make the NFL, so good luck with that type of evaluation.

Auburn needs portal players to be good now, and not to be good 3 or 4 years later in the myriad of development opportunities the NFL might present (special teams, practice squad etc).

Also with Cignetti and the "16 players for JMU" there was added value in that he coached them all (developed them) and they all were obviously in the same system. Not the same as getting guys from just random small schools.

I don’t see this being an Auburn thing as much as a college football thing. Coaches need to win now, and if you take an OL out of high school they usually need two years to develop into SEC quality starters. Now days there is no expectation the OL you took out of high school and paid while you spent the two years getting them ready won’t transfer to another school.

The progression used to be high school, college bench, college starter. Now the progression is high school, smaller school where you develop while playing, to SEC school to finish your years playing.

Classic Auburn board.

One guy complaining that the board is trying to justify taking a guy while a different poster doesn’t think we can land him because he has too many good offers

Golesh is just trying to get on my good side by bringing in all these receivers.
