Well in his defense, unless he left Indiana for someone else, not exactly the same situation he walked into, after a few years

There is something you are missing with him...go take a look at the coaches that have remained with him over the years. His DC has been with him for 11 yrs I believe. He has been running the RPO for years.

He also has a good locker room. He gets the players that buy into locker room & system.

So just buying the best players alone doesn't work..we just fired a guy who thought he was paying for the best but yet how many players followed him? How many left JMU and now USF to follow their coaches...it was the ones that could play in that next league...

Fong said we're one of the teams expected to have interest in Ohio State transfer Quincy Porter.
quote:

Kinsler added that the likes of “Washington, Michigan, Notre Dame, Miami, Tennessee, South Carolina, UCLA and Auburn” are schools where there is expected to be interest. The Wolverines were one of the finalists for Porter during his high school process.

Once Porter is in the transfer portal he will quickly setup a visit. He is looking for a place where he can be “receiver No. 1 and showcase himself in that manner.”

I guess we're gonna convert some of these WR to OL. that seems to be all it is now. every bit of news is about a new WR.

This is the first time since NIL we got transfer QB that was a starter for his current team. Everyone else was 2nd string or about to be. (Finley,Thorne, Arnold)

It’s all you have to do is get a QB. But NEVER get one that is about to get benched after playing the previous year. Thats what we did the last 4 years. It was like we were a Non-P4 (Freeze thought he was at Liberty or would get another Malik). Yall can blame the Oline but they weren’t that bad once we got rid of the QBs that just held the ball. The number of 6’2+ 240lb 4,5 - pass rushers is growing. You got to have Oline that can compete but they are going to lose plenty of battles. QB has to be mobile or pocket shifting Mendoza type that gets it out quick. Our QBs have sucked since Nix, and evidently he was a head case and got worse.

We are Back! We have a STUD at QB that will make everyone look better. We have been in a severe QB drought. We got the most important position. Ships on the way…

Does this staff expect Bear McWhorter to start as a TF?

And did we sign the OT from Michigan St to be our starting LT? Definitely to compete for it or slide, right

I mean, we already got about 11 WR counting ones returning from last year, the portal and the new HS commits. I can see maybe adding 1-2 more, but we're not really getting any news about other positions of dire need. teams like OK, TAMU, Kentucky are snatching up OL/DL left and right while we're looking for WR. Either they have some info about people not in the portal that are gonna be hitting the portal or we're gonna roll with the freshmen and whatever scraps we can get after everybody else picks it clean.

I wouldn’t be surprised if Cole Skinner, IOL from USF, commits soon. Wonder how everyone is going to feel about that? Happy, Not Happy, mixed emotions?

3rd time posting this, but maybe you didn't go through all the pages.. Mark Cuban just started donating to their NIL. The Cignetti way is now the same way as everyone else.. buy the best players you can get.
Cignetti brought in 13 players off the JMU team. They went to the playoffs in his first year! The worst, all-time program in the history of CFB went to the playoffs in his 1st year. His 2nd year, he's the favorite to win it all. His QB was not highly recruited and won the Heisman. There is not a "star" on his team starting this season.

He identifies players that buy in to his way, work hard, sacrifice for the good of the team. He doesn't have issues with off the field bullshite. He strikes me as a guy who screams, "my way, or the highway". Meanwhile, our program, and others treat prima donnas like they are irreplicable. Dudes demanding money before going to a game. Piss poor performance brushed offed, and the continuous bullshite of playing underachievers because they have a big NIL deal.

The arrow on those visitors means they've already committed elsewhere.
