didn't Auburn have this last season with Yellawood?

Yes you are correct. It made headlines last year, so I guess they forgot about it. Amazing how many “firsts” are claimed about anything now.

Someone needs to tell LSU it’s stupid to do this after already signing Leavitt!

It is stupid for a team with a clear cap on spending. Which is Auburn.

The problem with your takes is that they are fantasies for the program that you actually follow. When I talk about these things, I am obviously referencing to Auburn, and not Texas or any other program. It is not fundamentally stupid to want the best players at every spot on your 3-deep depth chart. That was never my argument.

You need to wake up and realize that the program you are following is not the LA Dodgers. You will be much happier when you come to this realization. You might also realize why Kiffin said no when be begged him to come here a few years ago, but he chose to run out on a CFP season to take the LSU job.

A second note: talking a kid like Longstreet into sitting on the bench for another season is also reliant on possessing an elite class of HC or offensive system which itself becomes a selling point. Lane Kiffin has that draw right now, but it is not something that every HC possesses. So while Longstreet is happy to sit on LSU's bench for a year, he isn't going to give the same leeway to most other schools which don't have a Lane Kiffin as their HC.

TBF LSU is also not willing to risk QB1 not being 100% at the start of the season.

My personal opinion is Kiffin will do well there. But "doing well" will lead to a fan meltdown. They are being overpromised and are going to be underdelivered.

Auburn’s revenue and LSU’s is not much different. It’s right there for you to Google. Yes, the Texas schools, Ohio State, etc., they’re on a different level.

Kiffin was taking the job. His daughter begged him to stay while she was going to school. That’s well documented. It had nothing to do with him choosing old piss over Auburn.

I agree. Drago had one of the top offenses in the country for multiple years now. Longstreet’s people must give better advice than Deuce’s.

I do think we've paced ourselves this portal cycle purposely because of what happened with Chaplin and others. (Auburn isn't the Dodgers), but they also shouldn't be the (Florida Marlins) cutting good talent to save cap space. I'm find with not foolishnessly spending, but being cheap is another pattern that could lead to failure. I'm essentially saying sometimes you do the right thing..... but the result is so terrible that you then do the wrong thing...... I want us to keep spending, but be intelligent about it this time. Next time you spend millions for a Tackle, make sure he's not deaf That's the issue. Spending a million for the tackle was the right thing, but not properly vetting is the wrong part.

For LSU's revenue, their booster will rob children's hospitals for their school.

it appears that Kiffin is the new "villain" of the college football landscape - the guy that everyone wants to see fail because of his actions and attitude - and thus LSU is the new "hated" program in college football.

honestly don't think this relationship is going to work out like the LSU fans think it will....

I could be wrong (my LSU friends think I am)...but we shall see

A good LSU generally helps us. We may bump heads over a south AL recruit. LSU is a thorn in Texas, TAMU and Bama's side.

Much like Kelly before him, Lane hasn't won anything as a HC of note

The fact that this actually happened is one of the core differences between AU people in general and LSU/Bama/UGA people. Our alumni in general terms won't lie, cheat, steal and risk bankruptcy to win. Those three schools do have a significant portion of their base that will, they already have a strong tradition of doing so, and its going to be ugly if no caps are put in place the next 5-10 years as schools with far larger and/or wealthier alumni bases take those three to the woodshed.

When it was $100 handshakes, boxes of steaks, and co-signing on $5k loans, AU was in the mix. We fell behind when it became Dodge Chargers and big $ "jobs" for parents (during the early Saban era, when discussions of jobs for their players and parents was rampant, I ran into the momma of a prominent AU player at her job. She stopped slinging fried shrimp at that Capt D's long enough to give me a War Eagle!). We will probably fall further behind as budgets run to $40M+.

Patches, Not Full Overhauls: Don't expect NASCAR-style uniforms; discussions focus on small, tasteful patches, often on the shoulder or chest.

Look back at 1960's driver's suits for any major racing series, NASCAR or not. That's how they started out too, with "just a few, small, tasteful patches". You had the colors for your main sponsor that were your team colors, and maybe a tire company and a Tag-Heuer logo since they timed just about every race on the planet.

The uniforms will get NASCAR'd with quickness.

D’Antre Robinson, DL from UNC, will officially visit tomorrow

Was a 4* in 2024 out of HS. On3 has his stats as: totaled 38 tackles, including 16 solos, 2.5 tackles for loss, .5 sack and one forced fumble
