Right now, according to one of the "insiders" on the paid boards it is 51/49 for coming back. There is NIL for him, the coaches want him, and talks between the two parties have gone well.
The poster makes a point to add a disclaimer to any "insider" posts, and no mods have touched the subject, that I've seen.
Personally, I think it's sad that our best shot at getting him for another season is because Hugh shite the bed and tanked the kid's draft stock, but he'd definitely be a nice weapon in Golesh's offense, imho...

I honestly didn’t realize he had more eligibility.
I hope he stays, I enjoy watching him and he is clearly more talented than the guys that are set to leave (Perry, Simmons, etc.). He’d actually get used in this new offense.

I thought the same thing. But maybe it works out, he stays, has a banner year and is drafted higher than he would have ever been, plus he makes quite a few shekels while at Auburn for another year.

Duke Smith played on special teams for four games.
His hs film is nice. The stats are obscene but its his running motion, like some of the rare athletes. He is fast but its not the elbows and knees flailing, spit flying, he just has good vision and glides through holes effortlessly...while passing everyone on the field.

Heard on a couple of podcasts that "Chaplin is obviously not being offered the same money".
Interesting talk Charlie 5 had with Dismukes. He said he watched X film from Tech and he had none of the off sides, holding calls. He said Auburn was not using a silent count. Pretty simple you get in stance, the center looks down the line, brings his head back to center, when that happens the entire line looks forward, silently says "Auburn" and we go.
If he had hearing issues, he had them at Tech and it didnt affect him there.....hmmmm.

Maybe its simple direction like silent count. He will get a haircut regardless and up to him if he stays.
On a sidenote, Trump is speaking about NIL and says it cant continue as it is, and he will support a fix to these insane deals.

To much pressure on the players to win games with a bad scheme. You get to trying to hard in some instances. I think that’s what affected Chaplin. Much like with Bo Nix when he was at AU he wanted to win to much and made mistakes trying to win instead of just doing his part

Oh wow - he played one good game. Back the Brinks truck up! The guy got a bump last offseason after he threatened to leave, and he didn't reward Auburn at all for the extra cash, considering that he almost got kicked off the team and then went ghost for 90% of the season.
Some of you would make the worst negotiators imaginable LOL.
